Black House is an oatmeal coffee stout bursting with coffee aroma and flavor. Modern Times is one of the only breweries in the world to roast our own coffee, which allows us to be exceptionally picky about which coffees we use and how we roast them. The result is an abundantly flavorful beer that’s incredibly complex and aromatic, with loads of roast character and a chocolate-covered espresso bean finish. But Black House packs all that flavor into a reasonable package: at only 5.8% ABV, it can comfortably be consumed by the pint.

Bottle from VilleValla Pub. Dark body with medium carbonation. Smells of dark coffee and dark malts. Taste of Möre coffee and less Malts. Great beer for the alcohol content.

Aroma is coffee, dark malts and dark chocolate. The flavor is dark/roasted malts, coffee, mild fruit/dark fruit, earthy and an acidic/slightly bitter finish.

Can. Dark brown close to black with a medium sized diminishing light brown head. Earthy coffee, wood, dark chocolate and chalk in the nose. Flavour follows; lots of coffee, roasted malt, some caramel, chocolate, light honey. Medium body, oily texture, soft and slightly fizzy carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Lingering coffee and roasted malt in the finish. Not bad, but not all that interesting either. Fizzy.

Can thanks to Dan. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate fudge. Taste is sweet with a tangy finish. Carbonation is a bit high for me and that tang is up there. Decent but wish the can was 12oz.

Poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was watery stale black coffee. Flavor was pretty similar, watery, notugh underlying beer xharacter. This brewery continues to underwhelming me.

Can at home. Black with big beige head. Deep roasted chocolate malts, milk chocolate and dark roasted coffee, sugar sweetness, old coffee. Medium sweet, medium coffee/chocolatey bitter. Medium body, chocolate milky feel. Average carbonation. Nice but 0,5L is a bit much though. Oh well :-)
