Fortunate Islands shares the characteristics of a hoppy IPA and an easy drinking wheat beer. A massive dose of Citra and Amarillo hops gives it a blastwave of tropical hop aromatics: mango, tangerine, and passionfruit all leap out of the glass when poured. Brewed with 60% wheat malt, Fortunate Islands also has the mild, nutty malt backbone, reasonable ABV, and restrained bitterness to make it an outstanding session beer.

Pours a gorgeous hazy amber with white silky head. Aroma of citrus fruits such as pineapple and orange as well as mango. Flavor is more if those tropical notes. Tastes like an IPA that's missing the bitter bite. Very tasty, and greatly made beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Barrel Republic. Pours clear gold with a thick white head. Tastes like creamy wheat, smooth hops, light grapefruit, very light pine. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like citrus hops, creamy wheat, light grapefruit, and light pine.

[2/21/15] Draught at Modern Times Flavordome in San Diego. Clear gold. Nice hoppy aroma of overripe tropical fruits. Great flavor full of tropical fruity hops, quite juicy. Light to medium-bodied. Very nice.

Tasted from draft. Pours a clear gold with white head. Nice citrus aroma. Notes of lemon, orange, passion fruit. Taste is also tropical fruits with a little wheat. Not too much of a wheat taste. Very well balanced. Definitely one of the better wheat beers I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a bright golden with a average white head. Aroma is a zesty hop. Not much of the wheat but plenty of hops. Flavor is a lesser hop but more of the wheat malt makes an appearance. Finish is a bit watery but still a bit citrusy. Decent beer with a great aroma.

Whoareally good. Citrusy hoppy crisp drinkable wheat ale. West coasts gumballhead. Perfect summer beer or all the time beer in san diego.

Tap at brewery. Pours clear gold with creamy white head. Aroma is huge orange peel/citrus notes, with some wheat, faint spice, and some floral notes. Flavor is citrusy with a dry malt base, and smooth hop bitterness; thin and drinkable, but came off as a little watered down. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

Hasse slänger upp en burk efter första Uppsala beer & wiskey. Helt fantastiskt öl, pigg och fräsch. Ca 2-3 v. Oerhört humlepigg och delikat. Balanserad

Light Amber color; white, average sized head. Not much cloudiness for a wheat beer. Aromas of an IPA with pine and citrus; malt is pretty subdued. Alcohol a bit on the light side. Light to medium body. Somewhat long finish with plenty of hop bitterness. Overall a fairly good IPA; the wheat influence is pretty mild.
