COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lomaland is Belgian-style saison that’s both complex and quaffable. In keeping with the farmhouse tradition, Lomaland is brewed with barley, wheat, and corn, giving it a complex and delicious malt body that pairs beautifully with food. Czech Saaz hops are added in the kettle to give it a lightly grassy, peppery note and just enough bitterness to cleanse the palate. It’s distinctively rustic, earthy aroma comes from the unique blend of traditional Belgian yeast strains (95% Dupont/5% Westmalle) we use to ferment it.

Van from Brewdog. Pours cloudy weak golden with a big creamy snow white head. Aroma of lemon zest, yeast and weak pepper. Taste is crisp, fresh citrus, weak sour, with a good malty body underneath. Grassy and peppery dry finish. High carbonated, nice enough.

Cloudy blond color, small head. Earthy aroma, manure, mild spices, nice. Spicy yeast flavor, light fruity esters, but also light sourness and mild vegetable feeling.
Not too bad.

Draught at John Scott’s Linné on July 16, 2016.
Slight bit hazy straw yellow to pale golden color, small white head with lacing. Acidic, banna, spicy taste. A tad sour, spicy aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, low to very low bitterness. Acidic, spicy scent.
Not very enjoyable to me, happy I managed to order a smaller pour.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge - UK. Color: clear golden blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: grassy and herbal saisonish nose. Sweet finish, well balanced, sweet ester. Taste: medium body with good malt balanced with saison taste. Grassy and floral. Good attenuation. Highly drinkable. Aftertaste: grassy and saison yeast.

Hazy yellow with a large frothy head. The aroma has a lot of peppery notes of phenol and Saaz. There is also some sweet malt and mellow fruity esters. The flavor is fairly grainy, some malt and corn, with some lightly fruity notes and less phenol. A bit of tartness rounds this out a bit. Not bad.

Can from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - a bit lively on opening. Pale golden with a slight haze. A generous head. Nose - light citrus and cereal. Honey at the back. Taste - much more like a saison than on the nose. Candied orange and light spice. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - a good example of the style.
