COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lomaland is Belgian-style saison that’s both complex and quaffable. In keeping with the farmhouse tradition, Lomaland is brewed with barley, wheat, and corn, giving it a complex and delicious malt body that pairs beautifully with food. Czech Saaz hops are added in the kettle to give it a lightly grassy, peppery note and just enough bitterness to cleanse the palate. It’s distinctively rustic, earthy aroma comes from the unique blend of traditional Belgian yeast strains (95% Dupont/5% Westmalle) we use to ferment it.

It pours a clear pale golden color with average head. The aroma has a Belgian spiciness to it like pepper and a bit of lemon citrus. The taste has some spiciness to it as well and some nice grassy bitterness. The body is light, clean and dry. I love the description on the can as rustic, it describes it well. This was quite enjoyable and worth the buy.

Draught at Watering Hole. Lemon and grassy hops, apple, bit of wheat, touch of funk, light earthy finish. Didn’t enjoy it as much as their other brews somehow, seems a bit to light and sweet for me.

Pours yellowish with a small head. Aroma of zesty lemon, citrus, grapefruit and yeasty notes. Taste is yeasty, stuffy and sweetish with some lemon and citrus. Finish is yeasty and stuffy with some hints of lemon. A bit too yeasty and stuffy.

October 25th, 2013 - Modern Times’ contribution to this year’s beer fad of the year (deservedly so - I’m not knocking saisons) is a fitting end to the visit to the Modern Times HQ. Wheat, banana and a light coating of vanilla make an inviting aroma, and it there’s not much hesitation until the first sip. The palate is sudsy and soda like, which big, tubby bubbles, and the flavor is effete and graceful, showing off wheat and notes of sourdough bread. Crackers, too, and a nice overall impression of bread-in-beer. Liquid baked goods here, and a demonstration that Modern Times has already mastered a sweeping menu of styles.

Canned. Decent Saison. Its light and spicy with a slight citrus tang. The malt base works well too giving the beer a mild bready character. I am very much a fan of this type of Saison as opposed to the fruity or hoppy concoctions. Paired superbly with some Greek style lemon chickem.

Pours a hazy yellow from the tall boy with fluffy white head that diissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of funky farmhouse yeast and sweet citrus. Taste is more toward the citrus but a nice saison yeast quality, I think the French yeast variety. Bubbly carbonation, dry finish. Pretty typical for the style with a slightly more citrus note.

Pours a big head with prickly carbonation. Apples, a bit floral in the nose. Flavor more earthy than fruity with a fair amount of spice character.
