In short: A whole lot of honey and not much else. Gross.
How: Tap at brewpub (Modrá Hvězda, Dobřany, Czech Republic)
The look: Cloudy golden body with a medium white head
In long: Way way way too much honey. Sickening. Something in the finish that resembles a rotting apple. I tried to pick other flavours but just couldn’t, this is honey and more honey wall to wall. Thankfully this the only misstep from this otherwise fine brewpub because with beers like that you attract bees, not customers.

(Rating #1563)

My Bottom Line:
Explosive flowery honey engulfs this Svetly Specialni, offering lots of direct mead flavors which cannot be completely balanced out by the herbal hop bitterness. If you want real honey in your beer, and lots of it, this is for you!

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy gold.
-Body is quite buxom in this one, and combined with the potent honey showing, decreases drinkability.
-This is as professionally-brewed as other Modra Hvezda beers.
-This half-mead, half-pivo is fun to celebrate Easter, but it is not as pleasant to down as other Modra Hvezda’s.

On tap at the brewpub.
