COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefbvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years. Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.
It can be served cold at 5C or with the chill taken off at 10C, depending on ones taste. Enjoy.

Slight haze, ornate rings of lace, heaped suds. Coniferous (Saazy?) aroma with an apple sauce sugary sweetness. Clean, crisp and apple-accented, but still slightly Pils-like. Lots and lots of sugar. Maybe honey. Surprisingly enjoyable.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a hue off-white and collapsing head. Caramel sweet aroma with a underlying spice note. Flavour holds a distinct caramel flavour on top of a sharp bitterness intermixed with belgian yeast notes. A light note of orange peel appears before the finish. Ends sharp bitter and yeasty spiced.

Bottle. Popped the cap off and the beer really wanted to get out of the bottle. Saved most of the beer. Nice toasty, yeasty an bit spiced aroma. Pours hazy amber. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour has toasted malt, spices, some yeast, fruits, caramel and a good hoppiness. Dry toasty bit spiced finish. Tasty brew.

Fad. Absolut en meget skuffende trippel, isr p fad. Ingen af de normale karakteristika for en trippel, bare malt med en kende bitterhed i slutningen. Kedelig og intetsigende.

Bottle @ Caf Jos, Nijmegen. Pours a muddy, lightly pale yellow-orange. A big creamy off-white head threatens to overtake the entire glass. Aroma is sweet, spicy, a little yeast, vanilla, malts and cookies.Quite high carbonation making it very lively. Generally sweet flavour, lightly vinious. Quite bitter and with a fruity/spicy finish. Quite long aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2015 33cl bottle. Beautiful deep copper coloured beer with a nice head and gentle bubbling. Heavy sweet smell, a mixture of banana, peach, caramel with hints of raisins and black berries. Touch of metal and malt. Maybe even some cherries. Bitter but subtle, the taste is fruity but not overwhelming. Cherry sourness. Hints of wood. Dry and sweetish with a touch of alcohol. Overall a subtle, original triple.
