Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefébvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years. Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.
It can be served cold at 5°C or with the chill taken off at 10°C, depending on one’s taste. Enjoy.

Pour is dark hazy golden with a big, but fast fading tan head...smell is sweet with brown sugar and hoseblanket funk?...some spicyness...taste is weak with some mild pepper and sweetness...a disappointment...

Light copper with an off white head. Spicy, lemon grainy aroma. Similar flavour, with some interesting herbal notes. Still shows the alcohol, but perfectly drinkable.

Hazy orange, small head. Sweetish, almost weizenbier nose. Sweet, candy sugar flavor in the liquerish body. Hides alcohol quite well. Some grassy hops in the finish.

Bottle. Hazy golden with huge white head. Sweet, fruity, spicey and a touch medicinal aroma. Flavour is toffee, malty, fruity with a medium sticky mouthfeel, and a spicey, lightly bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle, Paters Vaetje in Antwerpen. Hazy gold, good white head and gentle condition. Initial fruity grain aromas with developing apple and banana notes and a slight yeastiness as it warms. Gentle mouthfilling soft sweetness in the mouth with fruity grain dominating, although some spirity alcohol is apparent. Soft yeasty finish with lingering grain.
