Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefbvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years. Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.
It can be served cold at 5C or with the chill taken off at 10C, depending on ones taste. Enjoy.

Fairly clear for a tripel. I like the level of carbonation in this. Taste is smooth but not incredible.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2015 Donkerblond bier met oranje gloed. Mooie witte schuimkraag. Bloemig aroma, hinten van graan, citrus, hop. Smaak beetje vlak, weinig uitgesproken. Friszuur met bittertje. Weinig afdronk. Geen slecht bier maar ook niet echt een hoogvlieger. Goed als tussendoortje.

Bottle at Turisten, Ljungskile. Pours hazy yellowish orange with a compact big white foam that dissipates extremely slow, leaving plenty of lacings. Aroma is quite complex, with banana, citrus, some vanilla, slight yeast. Taste is fairly fruity and malty up-front with citrus hops and sweet flavours like pear and honey. Apparant yeast notes, a bit flower in the end which also is a bit dry. Full bodied, medium carbo. Appear simple at first but grows in complexity with each zip. Nice.

Had this one on tap with dinner. Pours hazy deep golden with a frothy white head. Aroma of sweet fruits like pears, some honey, hints of spice. Flavor follows the smell closely with light sweetness and yeast funk. Easy drinking, medium bodied, with medium carbonation. Is have this again, though there are better options when in Belgium.
