Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefébvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years. Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.
It can be served cold at 5°C or with the chill taken off at 10°C, depending on one’s taste. Enjoy.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2012 One of my favorites, hard to poor without too much foam. Extra challenge. Darker yellow color, hazy when you poor the yeast. Very bitter with a bite. I like to drink this a bit colder than other beers. Good smell, taste stays. Perfect.

Cloudy deep gold with medium creamy head and chunky lacing. I think this beer almost has the quintesential Belgian strong ale aromas. Fresh and dried fruit, raisins, unsweetened chocolate, spices and hints of port wine. A very smooth nicely balanced all the way palate. In some ways it reminds me of a festive ale as it has that citrus, bitter/sweet chocolate flavour coming through even until the ’bitter’ end. It may be slightly too sweet for some, kinda like a liquid plum pudding. I’m glad I bought more of these.

Bottle Conditioned at Berenbak, Antwerpen. Hazed orange colour with foamy head. Lovely subtle malty flavour with sweet toffee and a spiy fruitiness. I loved this beer

bottle@Pater’s Vaetje: appearance is very impressive, absolutely clear orange, golden colour, you can see the bubbles rising rapidly like in sparkling water, decent fluffy, white, lasting head, taste itself is excellent, slightly sweet, very slight candy sugar, very fruity with passion fruit and tangerines, followed by malt, some yeast, sweet spices like cinnamon, medium body, plenty of carbonation, great beer
