Finishes sweet, interesting. gwelch925 (28), Northern, Kentucky, USA Jun 29, 2008 Picked up a 6’er for the Euro Cup, congrats Spain. Barbarossa is copper in color. When I poured this beer in to a Lager glass it formed a nice two-finger head. The head had a tan color to and it laced well ,however it did diminish to a thin sized head before I made it halfway through the beer. The aromas featured roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. The flavors included chocolate, a bit of smokiness, some grain and nuttiness ,but the roasted malts are the major players. Overall it was a good representative of Christian Moerlein. I only wish that I slowed down a bit and saved at least one of the six for after the game. hopdog (4347), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with alexsdad06 (thanks!). Poured a deeper amberish color witha smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, light smoke, grains, and light nuts. Tastes of roast, chocoalte, and some graininess. AllAboutStout (391), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 10, 2008 Pours brown in color with some reddish undertones. Slight head when poured, but disappears shortly after.
Smell is all malt and that distinctive lager smell.
Taste is much the same, but I get a little sweetness and some tobacco/smoke flavors as well. Medium to full on the mouthfeel and creamy. This is a nice addition to the CM lineup.
