Bottle from Cavie. Brown pour with a small head. Aroma is brown sugar, dark fruit, and baking spice. Taste is dark fruit, pumpkin bread, spice, and malty.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish orange color with brown tints. Beige colored head. Aroma is syrup, dark malts, sweet caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is dark malts and roasted notes. Caramel and toast. Not bad.

12/25/11. Merry Christmas! 12oz bottle courtesy Cavie. Dark amber pour with a small khaki head that fades. Big caramel aroma with touches of tartness and roast. Sweet caramel aroma that then shows chocolate and a surprising roasted malt presence. Not bad!

12oz bottle. Somewhat hazy red/maroon color, minimal off-white head. A couple nice thick horizontal ropes of lace. Moderate to light carbonation. Unusual fruity taste, like prunes or other dark fruits, maybe cranberry juice. Pretty much no alcohol taste [I was expecting a higher ABV due to this being called "double-dark" ] but there’s a thick fermentiness. Taste is sweet, some sour, lighter bitter. Not for me.

Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Notes of toffee, caramel, toasted malt, sweet and bready. Medium to full bodied, lightly sweet with lively carbonation.

Pours a clear brownish with a light off-white dissipating head. Aroma is spicy and warm with toasted malt and a bit nutty. Flavor surprised me; long on the bourbon and much more aggressive than the warm aroma. Not bad overall.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed after a long day at an SAP conference, my brain balls hurt. Appearance is a dark, slightly thin brown with a thin off white head. Aroma of bread/caramel malt, not much else, smells thin. Taste is also malty, not really too bad, thin lager body with medium carbonation. I liked one of the beers from this brewery when in Cincy, but this one falls flat for me. Definitely better than a mass produced lager, but there are better craft lagers out there.

12 oz. Clear brown with a lasting meringue above. Nose is spicy toasted nut, molasses, and a hint of sickly sweet shellac. Taste is cola, caramel, toasted nut, light dry grass and sour apple. Near-medium body is a bit fizzy, but well balanced.

Pours a dark clear cola color with a pretty decent off white head. Aroma is nutty with a semi-sweet roasted malt flavor. Some chocolate/coffee and buttery notes. A fairly good dunkel , but not exceptional. Refreshing; goes down easy.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2011 Draft in a pint glass - pours a clear brown/amber with very light beige head that vanishes in a flash. Aroma is roasted caramel malts, nuts and with a hint of hops. Taste is sweet and a wee but bitter. Goes down a little gritty and has a long finish. Not bad and way better on tap.
