Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; a semi-transparent amberish-brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes like it smells with some toffee and light hop notes Average on the palate. Okay.

Dark brown. Malty and sweet. Roasted smell. Good tasting and chocolaty. Nice balance. Good cheaper craft brew.

Hazy dark brown color, medium tan head. Aroma is winter fruit and light spice. Taste has a bit of citrus and spice. Medium to light body, a bit too light for the style.

Pours a deep mahogany color with a huge tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, bread, and some banana. Flavor of caramel malt, light toast, and slight earthy bitterness.

Nice look with deep amber color and fair head from a bottle, but not a winter warmer. A nice ale but very little spicing and not a lot of malt.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2012 Pours a clear dark amber with a light tan head that’s full. Bread and spice aroma. Sweet caramel malt taste with a buttered bread character.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 smell is quite grassy and sweet from a bottle. look is cloudy iced tea brown. taste is at first a little medicinal,then there is this cloying effect. gets a little easier to take as the session continues but i’m nagged by the sweet rudeness of this brew. some fine co2 on the palate. now as i am near the end of the bottle there is this whiskey thing in there, almost like somebody put some cheap shit in there. difficult at times, not very refined on the finish, medicine.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. reddish brown with a minimal tan head. Nose: spicy, sweet, sugar, toffee and some orange. Tastes starts bitter-hoppy then becomes more alcoholic-sweet. Medium body, oily texture. very light carbonation and a long, bitter finish. Nice winter beer when Belgian beer heaviness is too much to handle.

Hearty, roasted malt backbone. Strong caramel and some molasses. A little chewy bread. Orange peel notes with some pine and spice. Enjoyable.
