3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at the 2012 Cincinnati Brew-haha. Clear light-brown/red color, a bit of off-white head. Stronger, but crisp carbonation. Sort of a tangy sweet/bitter taste, with a bit of savory. Some dark fruit and hop aroma. An OK doppelbock, nothing special.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
35cl bottle - pours dark amber with quickly diminishing tan head and minimal lacing. Nose is chocolate and roasted malts. Aroma is coffee and toffee (candy). Very sweet and bizarrely bitter at the end. Medium to full body with sticky texture. Way too sweet for the style.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured into crappy hotel glass. Reddish brown color with a thin head thatís gone in a flash. Great aroma, ultra malty, bready with maybe a hint of dark cherries and molasses. Taste is pretty representative of the nose, but a little more thin bodied than I expected. Ton of malt, dough, slight brown sugar, earthy hops. Fairly well balanced but lacks just a bit. Decent beer from the Cincy brewers. Aroma is big highlight.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a nice light brown, full of bubbles and promise. Smelled awesome - burnt caramel popcorn with a piny hop presence. The taste was hoppy, but also tangy with a nice toffee aftertaste. Finished dark roasty and bitter. Back and forth on the palate with this one.
