5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Deep amber, moderate to large fluffy off-white head, decent lacing.   Malty nose, very minor sweet cereal.   Quite
malty on the tongue, little to no hop bite.   Smooth, perhaps a touch of cereal in there but otherwise clean.   Body and mouthfeel
are moderate.   I must say this one is better than I expected.   Perhaps it is because the last few beers I had weren’t all that
good.   Minor sweetness on the finish.   Pretty plain, average, but clean and easy drinking with a good malt base.   Not half
bad!   Thanks Craig for the freebie!
AllAboutStout (523), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours amber in color with not much head at all. Smell is malty and a bit spicy. Taste is very malty, much more than in the nose. A good amount of hops in the taste as well. Medium mouthfeel with a good amount of bitterness. Very good and easy drinking. Not bad. PorterPounder (2851), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 5, 2008 Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Dark orange pour, sparkling, soft white head. Sweet aroma, hints of candied yams. Earthy flavor, some toffee accents, caramel, some hints of pumpkin and a bit of ripening vegetables. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Not overdone with sweetness, overall, decent. Aurelius (2507), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 30, 2008 Malty, slightly candied, aley aroma -- a little buttery. Great cap, fun label, light orange brew, thin, almost white head. Hoppy, diacetyl, not sweet, lightly astringent. Medium body, silky feel, semi-crisp finish. A decent pricepoint brew. alexsdad06 (662), Ohio, USA Feb 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small diminishing beige head. The aroma is carmel malty goodness mixed with a bit of buttered toast. The flavor begins with a nice mildly sweet caramel maltiness that transitions to taosted bread with some hoppy bitterness. The funk that appears for a brief time is only a minor distraction. Easy drinking solid, yet unspectacular beer.
