2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle thanks to chswimmer. Pretty boring appearance - a dull dark brown with not much head to it, only a ring. The aroma is straight-up Oreo cookie crumbles. Not much else to it. This is not really a bad thing. The flavor is also Oreo-dominated, with chocolate and roastiness. A little metallic on the finish. Decently tasty. Pretty typical mouthfeel - medium-bodied, maybe a little on the watery side, with soft carbonation. A reasonable beer overall, but nothing I’d go crazy over.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2010 Bottle. Beer of the Month club. Black-colored with a quickly-diminishing bubbly beige head. Roasty aroma of coffee (a bit ice-coffee like), caramel and nutty notes. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor with coffee, some coffee beans and a drier, mildly bitter finish. Medium-bodied with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Decent.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours a kinda cola like dark brown with a medium head that dies to a few bubbles in the couple of minutes that I spend watching the Bruins get bounced from the playoffs. Aromas are sweet and weak. A little bit of brown sugar and chocolate, some earth and nothingness. Flavor is even more bland... kind of a cardboard/wet paper presence with a little chocolate malt, a bit of earth and nut and a washed out finish. Seriously meh...

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy dark brown, no head. Rich chocolate, roasty nose. Flavor is sharp and roasty. Very sharp burnt taste. Palate is thin. Best part of this is the aroma.
