bottle. clear gold. rich pale malt, almost nutty, aroma. flavor is, again, rich and robust. nice, clean, grassy hersbrucker. medium bodied. the flavorful, rich, malt is balanced nicely with the clean hop addition.

I confess to not being to interested in the style to begin with, but this is not a very good version of it. Lots of grass hop of front, but mostly it’s got that classic wet cardboard taste and body.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a white head and aroma of grains and malt. Taste is of grains, malt, and bread notes. Very light and not much good flavor

Pours a very unappealing pale golden color with a small head. Nose is an annoying lager smell of grains. No flavor and boring. Finishes like every lager , not wanting to finish it.

I think this is the beer they are serving as the Helles at the Reds ballpark. Golden beer with a thin white head. Light corny sweetness in the nose, but it was out of a plastic cup at a ballgame.... Not the best place to judge a nose. Sweet beer with lots of canned corn, white sugar and some white bread. A hint of lemon grass in the finish, but mostly just sweet. Good for ballpark beer, but not great beer. Go Reds.

Labeled as Christian Moerlein Original Lager. Slightly skunky aroma, a bit of syrup at the beginning and ending with a dry finish. Cold, it has an acceptable bit of sweetness and crispness. Goes downhill towards the middle and end of the glass.

A clear straw golden color with a white head that had good retention and hardly any lace. Aroma was mild, soft biscuit like notes. Flavor was mostly bread-like but did have a nice subtle bitterness to it in the finish. Nice and balanced and crisp in the finish.

Bottle (labeled Christian Moerlein Original Lager) to half-pint (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; a transparent gold with white lacing. Smells doughy and mildly bitter, toasty, and skunky, although not in a bad way. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. An easy-drinking beer, and a solid example of the style.
