A Dortmunder styled lager featuring a rich malt complexity and a slightly higher ABV than our core lager, Lager House Helles. Cincinnati’s long history as a town that appreciates fermented beverages has its roots somewhere stuck in the memory of Ludlow Station, a place where the first militiamen had to be relocated due to rather excessive consumption habits of spirits.

Draft at The Woodward Theater’s grand reopening celebration on November 7, 2014. Medium amber hue, medium somewhat offbeat nose, light to medium bittersweet flavor. Nice and thirst quenching. Would like to see this replace Moerlein’s Lager House Helles.

Draft: Enjoyed this a lot. Very good, drinkable beer. It’s as good as the Helles, but has a bit more body to it, and provides a bit more malty power if that makes sense... good stuff. Not an "exciting" beer, but a solid style that you don’t see often enough.

4oz taster on tap at the Lager House. Clear golden color. Thin mostly white head. Leaves good ridges of lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Light slick. Great bready doughy peppery aroma. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Fantastic tasty delicious dortmunder. Very clean flavorful and refreshing satisfying lager.

Draft at the Lager House. Pours a clear bright gold with a small, barely off-white head that laces the glass. Aroma of grass, straw, spice, pale malts, and some herbs. The flavor is the same, with a hint of citrus and floral bitterness. Light-bodied, with a clean mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Pretty good. Worked better for me than the other new one, the Altered Wheat.
