Bottle. Poured clear copper color with a large frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter flavor with a moderate bitter finish of medium duration. Very good brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a light slightly hazy amber with a big off white head. Aroma is citrusy fruity hops. Flavor is grapefruit with a nice lasting bitterness and nice biscuity malt backbone. Not bad.

not balanced. Light malt. Light color. Hops are not up to an ipa. Needs refinement.

From a six pack of twelve ounce bottles purchased at "Kellerís IGA" - Okee-dokee, this is a good copy of Mid-California hops heavy IPA, but thereís no shame in that... I just wish my friend Greg Hardman (the capo de capo of Moerlein) wouldíve been a bit more individualistic with this brew. Still, itís tasty enough... but itís no O.T.R.!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a clear orange-amber with a two-inch thick, rocky, off-white head with nice retention and some lace. Aroma of caramel malts, earth, wood, floral hops, vegetal notes, dust, and- this is going to sound crazy- something that smells a little like armpit sweat. Iíve been around enough beer geeks to recognize that BO smell. The flavor improves, with notes of caramel malts, grapefruit, floral hops, tea, pine resin, and earthy, leafy notes. Finishes bitter. Light-medium bodied, with crisp carbonation and a tea-like mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but an unusual take on an IPA.

About $8 / sixer - Northern Liberties is not a bad IPA, but doesnít have the smoothness and polish of a top-notch IPA. Quite hoppy, as advertised, but a bit acerbic and medicinal on the tongue. Straight forward brew that is not bad.
