In celebration of Cincinnati Beer Week, Christian Moerlein and Arnold’s present Moerlein Peaty Pepper Porter, brewed by Moerlein Lager House brewmaster Richard Dube’. "I blended 75/25 of our Peaty Oui-Eve Scottish Ale Wee-Heavy with Embree’s Baltic Porter, brewed at the Lager House and infused it with 3 types of roasted peppers (Anaheim, Serrano, Poblano)". noted Richard. His unique and special offering is described as: A medium-full body Ale, with a hint of peat and dark fruits in the nose. Peppers are definitely recognizable in the aroma, and although relatively mile, the heat (spiciness) from the peppers will linger to balance the sweet caramel notes.

Draft at tapping party at Arnold’s on February 8, 2013. Opaque brown hue, very small tan head that slowly left with minimal lacing, aroma of peppers and sweet malt with the former predominating, flavor like the nose except the peppers aren’t quite as dominate, Defintiely leaves a pepper burn in its wake but well done and not too intense and certainly not intolerable like Cave Creek Chili Beer. A novelty beer for sure but decent, unlike that Rogue Voodoo maple bacon doughnut stuff.

Draft at GABF. Not sure why this is retired. It was poured yesterday. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of spicy pepper, chocolate, roasted black malt and vegetal pepper. Medium body.
