COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
POE: Peaty Oui-Eve. A traditional Scottish strong ale with a Lager House twist. A small addition of peated malt imparts a very subtle, but distinct smokey and earthy flavor. A combination of dark malt and a caramelization process during brewing gives a deeper rich, malty character. At 7.5% ABV with an undertone of sweetness, this monthly offering is a gift from our brewers to you for the holiday season. Suggested food pairings: Hunterís Stew, Short Ribs, and Fish and Chips.

Draft at the Lager House. Pours a deep amber, browner at the top and clearer at the bottom, with a small off-white head. Very sweet aroma of brown sugar, hazelnut, toffee, and butterscotch. The flavor isnít quite as sweet but is led by toffee, hazelnut, brown sugar, with some toast, nut, and faint peat notes following. Light-medium bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Too sweet for my tastes when it comes to this style.

Tap. Poured dark clear reddish brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and small alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

draft - pours dark brown with khaki head and great lacing. Nose is smoky and creamy. Flavor adds more smoke, peat and brown sugar. This is more like a Hudy than a Moerlein. Reminds me of the Leinenkugels Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. Mildly sweet.
