COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Thanks to Baggio for the beer. Medium orange color, white collar for head. Shows low carbonation. Nose is caramel, dried dark fruits, slight amounts of grapefruit, grass and pine. Light amounts of bread, sweetness and fruits. Hops have dropped off but there is some residual bitterness in this. Medium bodied, light carbonation and somewhat sticky. Nice barleywine. Nothing fancy though and maybe the wrong choice of hops

Bottle at the ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ronny. Pours clear, copper-gold with a fine, white cream head. Sweet bready malt nose, some toffee and caramel. Big sweet flavor, more toffee, light bitter grains, toasty sugars. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, some sweet bread, toffee, fruitcake. Sweet and tasty. Nice.

Hazy amber beer, small white head. Light semi dry palate. Aniseed and malt that has a trace of Port Wine character. Sweet caramel with estery peach and banana undertones. Vague bubblegum. Semi soft finish with mild toffee. Interesting!

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Ronny, 30/12/12. Hazed darkish amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge and leaves a film. Nose is dark toffee, fruits, booze, wood, touch dungy. Taste comprises dark fruit, raisens, dates, treacle toffee, sweet sugars, booze and wood notes. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, the alcohol is well disguised. Decent enough.

Lovely cloudy amber colour with a tan head. Fruity aroma. Sweet (not heavy sweet) flavour. Fruity and a fine caramel background. Also some hoppy notes. Fine rating beer by the fire.

The head is ok, the body brown and cloudy. It tastes very roasty, fruity, plum. In the aftertaste very alcoholic-creamy. Not bad, but for that high price not good enough. 10/11/11/11/9/11

Det här var en angenäm öl med relativt mycket humlebeska och lagom mycket sötma. Slutsats: välbalanserad och god öl.

Amber with a small white head. Malty with spice tones. Malt, hops and spices. Full body with a long, balanced bitter finish.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 2013-06-30, from Systembolaget, 20111028) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was very small and white. Aroma had resin, raisins, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, alcohol, sweetness, raisins, dark fruits, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. I should perhaps have drunk this fresher because the 100IBU bitterness had softened quite a lot. Sweet, quite balanced and a bit too boozy barley wine.
