(33 cl bottle from Bunker Beer) Pours black with frothy, tan head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is roasted malt with pleasant notes of herbal hops and hints of nuts and booze. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body and an alcoholic, warming finish. Taste follows the nose but the alcohol gives it more of medicinal character. Would probably benefit from some aging.

Black pour with a beige clingy head, pine, treacle and marmite nose, rich and hoppy body, with lots of dark dry treacley malt, hints of black coffee and green apples, all beautifully melded together.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter. Dark brown colour with a big, dense tan head. Roasted aroma with dark chocolate, coffee and nuts. Honey shows as a sweet, herbal note. A hearthy amount of bitterness. Hints of alcohol. Taste is bitter, rather bitter for a Imp. Porter. Full body, creamy texture. Finishes long lasting bitter with lots of dryness, supplemented by sweetness from the cane sugar. Very good porter, albeit rather bitter.

Bottle, traded with Cunningham. Almost black with a very big, beige head that lasts. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, light roasted, light earthy and piney hopped. Some pleasant honey notes appear after a while. Very good but not too deep. Rather full body, the thick dark malt layer dampens the aroma of alcohol but fails to prevent a burning sensation on the tongue. Light sweet taste, dry and light bitter finish. As it warms, the flavour becomes decidedly chocolate-biased. Very good.

Dark brown coloured. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Aroma is heavy hoppy, a bit untraditional for a porter. Some malty-alchol notes too. And citrus, but only faint. Sweet flavor, finish moderate bitter. Warming alcohol.
