COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Oxymoron is a development of last year’s Black IPA Easter Edition. As the name states the beer is a contradiction in itself, a dark light beer. The hop profile corresponds to an IPA albeit with a light body and a dark, stout-like colour, though without the roasted notes. Oxymoron is brewed with Pilsner, Pale, Munich, oat, rye, and light and dark caramel malts. The hop varieties are Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, Colombus, Crystal, Magnum and Simcoe)

A very black IPA with a nice thick brownish head. Aroma with pine forest, chocolate and some fruit in the background. Medium body. A very nice dry easter IPA

Had this before in an earlier version. Mohawk usually make nice beer and this is no exception. Only that I now know that black IPA isn’t my favourite style, probably The idea is to have the best of two worlds, but no.

330ml 2014 years vintage brown bottle, with a simplistic designed black and white label. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a large tan foamy head with good retention, that when reduced left some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, rye bread and lemon peels. Flavours of grapefruit, rye bread, caramel, lemon peels and a hint of liquorice. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, oily texture and average carbonation. Overall a great Black IPA, beers brewed with rye suit me perfectly, I think the rye spiciness complements the hops nicely.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, citrus, choklad, salmiak, grapefrukt, tall, bröd och rostade toner. En frisk och välbalanserd svart IPA. Fruktig, lagom sötma med tydlig beska med smak av grapefrukt och tall.

330 ml bottle sampled in 2012. Close to black body with a foamy beige head. Nice aroma of dark, light roasted malt with pine. Flavor is sweet, light roasted malt, fruity and bitter with pines. Fine body and rather bitter in aftertaste. Very nice.

330 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Near black with small off white head. Aroma and taste of licorice, citrus, vanilla, chocolate, faint spice and lots of hops.

Bottle at home in the garden, 27th May 2013. Pours a deep black velvet. Aroma is hops and some liquorice, taste is smooth, some hops and some stout qualities, liquorice and a little cocoa. Good black IPA, could be a hybrid, bottle was great even though it looked like it was Best Before August 2012

CanCrusher (510) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - APR 30, 2013
Bottle 0,33L. Very dark brown, almost black colour with tiny beige head. Strong hops aroma, some roasted malts and coffee. Bitter taste and very dense mouthfeel. Medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. This beer loks like combination of stout and ipa.

Bottle. A clear one, dark brown in color and with a minmal-sized beige head. Some roasted notes in the aroma, but it’s mostly on the piney and resiny side. Quite bitter in the flavor, with piney and resiny hops and a hint of roasted malts. Medium to full body, and a mostly bitter finish. Slightly unbalanced this one, but it drinks quite easily and doesn’t taste bad in any way. 120525

Really nice taste and aroma, this is a good thing to drink. [short review due to it coming from my backlog]
