COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours out in an almost clear amber colour with a rich firm white foam. Big hop aroma of pine, red grapefruits, orange-peels and flowers with sweet undertones of red oranges. Medium-bodied with with rich hoppy notes of red grapefruit, pine, lemon-rind, orange-peels and grass with a wee hint of sweetness from red oranges and yellow plums. Long bitter finish of grapefruit, orange-peels, wet grass and pine. Not in balance, just for hop heads.

Aroma: pears, caramel, vanilla, yellow grapes and apricot, spruce needles, a nice acrid depth to it that reminds me of of brewdog paradox sans the whisky.
Flavour: it immediately strikes me as very well balanced. The hops and malt mingle very well and form a unity rather than balanced or unbalanced contrast. Slightly pungent, very fresh and resinous. The malt is not adding much sweetness and yet it manages to add a lot of body – at least given the gravity. The flavour alone probably deserves a 6, but having no annoying qualities at all – a rare thing! – I give it an 8, for this is the kind of beer I could drink every day. The aftertaste reminds me of nettles, onions and nigella seeds, albeit subtly, and finally leaves a very pleasant hop bitterness clinging. There is some vague milkiness going on as well – I would normally have called that sappy, but milky seems more appropriate in this case. I don’t know where it comes from. The alcohol is also doing its work perfectly flavourwise, it adds some heat and pungency and comes as natural with the other flavours as it would’ve done in a good single malt.
Appearance: pretty, ruddy amber with a moderate development of very fine-bubbled yellowish foam.
Palate: oily, slightly frothy, quite fizzy – really clings to your mouth.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, medium amber, fluffy white head. Big, fruity, hoppy nose, lots of apricots, grapefruit peel, pine resin, tropical fruits, faint hints of yeast and diacetyl. Dry, medium body, pronounced bitterness, balanced CO2. Hoppy, fruity taste, apricots, citrus peel, pineapple, pine resin, caramel, malt, quite spicy. Good representative of Pale Ale style. Bottled. Hazy deep amber, small head. Rich grapefruity hop aroma. Dryish with clean mouthfeel and medium body. Biscuity crystal malt bacs the rich amounts of citric hops. Marked resiny bitterness. A tasty, very American style ale.

Bottle. Clear amber with a nice thick orangy off-white head. Hoppy fruity, citrusy aroma with a good caramel backbone. A bit yeast or fermented fruit as well as some cookie dough and almond paste. Taste is sweet of caramel and fruit with a smooth balanced citrusy, flowery and grassy bitterness. Some almond paste in the flavor too, and a slight metallic note towards the end. Body is medium. Carbonation is a bit lively but smooth. Not fantastic, but surely good.

50cl bottle, courtesy of and shared with Gnoff.
