Bottle from Systembolaget. Smella nd taste of chocolate, coffee, roated notes and soy sauce. Well hidden alcohol. Fruity finish. Easy to drink despite the high ABV. would have liked a bit thicker body, but besides that a very nice beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a jet black body with a large creamy off-white head. Nose is licorice, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee and hints of milk chocolate, grains and straw. Taste is dark chocolate, grains, cocoa, straw and hints of caramel, brown sugar, honey and pine. Full body, medium to high carbonation. Quite a pleasant imperial stout, yet somehow without being too convincing as far as top scores are concerned.

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Black color. Very coffeish aroma with pepper, grass, leather, juniper and hint of smoke. Sweet and roasty flavor with grassy coffee, licorice and bitter chocolate. Full body, some tannic astringency in the palate. Not my favourite IS, but quite complex.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nydelig balansert bitterhet. Tørr slik en god stout skal være.

Dark brown to black colour on the body, with a huge, thick and rising, dark beige head on top. Very good retention, helped by its size.
Nice aroma, with coffee grounds, fruity notes, chocolate.
Taste has also some coffee grouns, liquorice, light roasted malts on the finsih, fruity touches, faint chocolate, very well hidden alcohol.
Medium body with the carbonation on good levels.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. 2012 vintage. Pours black with a creamy and frothy dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, grass, moist soil, salty liquorice candy, caramel, burnt cookies and alcohol. Taste is heavy bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, burnt caramel, grass, pine, resinous wood, salty liquorice and alcohol. Mouthfeel is velvety, round, slightly astringent and near full bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, grapefruit rinds, grass, pine, resinous wood, coffee, salty liquorice and alcohol. An imperial BIPA? Whatever it is it’s good.
