COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Ar: honey, ash, coffee, hops, vanilla, smoke, alcohol. Ap: black colour, medium beige head, very creamy, lacing. F: coffe, licorice, ash, soft bitterness for the style, astringency, bit flat and onedimensional. M: sharp carbonation. T: mediocre.

Little nonlasting head. Nose with Lots of chocolate, and a ligthtlicorice, fullbody but surpringsingly not so long. Soft taste with planty of chocko, mocca and dried fruit. Nice but a bit simple.

(50 cl bottle from Bunker Beer) Pours black with rich, tan head. Aroma is initially of roasted malt which surprisingly is then followed by more hoppy, grassy and piney notes that blend in with an underlying biscuity-licoricy malty note. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation, oily texture and a lingering, bitter and dry finish. Reminds me somewhat of Mikkeller’s Beer Hop Breakfast but with a less electric hop bite. I like how the herbal, fresh hop character complements the complex, roasted character of the malt. Overall a well balanced beer, where the roasted malt never gets acidic and the alcohol is well masked.

Bottle 50cl. A dark brown colour with a small off-white head. An aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and fruit. The taste is medium sweet and medium bitter.

Bottle, 50cl - Opaque dark brown beer with a large beige brown head. Aroma is malty with notes of licorice, salmiak, earth, chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is malty with notes of coffee, chocolate, herbs and smoked licorice. Possibly Mohawks best beer though it needs some more months to smooth out the alcohol bite.

Very dark, like italian coffee. Roasty smooky smell. Tastes of honey and ashes, bitter and sweet, emobying and selective. A versatile stout suitable for slow sipping in front of the fire or as a meal companion. Why not with salmon or lobster?

500ml bottle, 2012 edition. Dark brown, almost black, body with a big brown tainted crown. Rye bread, coffee, dark chocolate, soy, orange peel, licorice and dried raisins. Nice strong bitter ending with a touch of dried raisin and fudge. A nice IS from Mohawk, although I prefer Blizzard.

Pours pitch black with one finger dark-chocolate-like head. Leaves little lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is mostly roasted and coffee-like. It has also smokiness, herbs and a little fruits. Taste has a lot of coffee, too much in my opinion. Coffee is followed by herbs and roastiness, it is also little burnt. Palate is agressively hoppy and tingly. All in all, this is way too coffee-like and burnt in my opinion, also hoppiness is too rough.

Bottle. Muddy brown/black with a very nice brown head leaving great lacings. Heavy malty aroma with meaty notes of soy, dark bread, licorice and chocolate. Nice easy going mouthfeel. Taste is also pretty salty with licorice, citrus, dark burnt bread and soy, but it smoothes out with a nice velvety chocolate note. Very nice, and better now than at SBWF.
