COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Quite Good Imperial stout. One og the best i've ever had. Pours pitch black out of the bottle. Little or no foam. Motor oil. Very strong aftertaste

Appearance: Sinful dark and subtle red color, with a creamy beige head. Nice lacing.
Aroma: Rich roasted malt, coffee, hoppy and chocolate.
Palate: Full body. Moderate sweet and a fine bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Complex and heavy stuff. Roasted malt, coffee, light fruity, hoppy and some chocolate. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: It is not often I notice hopps in Imperial stout. It was not to difficult in this one. Lovely tasty powerful ale. I am a big Mohawk fan!
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget in Strömstad, Sweden.

Bottle. Muddy brown/black with a very nice brown head leaving great lacings. Heavy malty aroma with meaty notes of soy, dark bread, licorice and chocolate. Nice easy going mouthfeel. Taste is also pretty salty with licorice, citrus, dark burnt bread and soy, but it smoothes out with a nice velvety chocolate note. Very nice, and better now than at SBWF.

Delicious dark fruity and chocolate aroma! Also some liquor coming through. The mohawk just puts in everything they got every time. Maybe more coffee than chocolate in the taste. Excellent bold beer. Will absolutely have again.

Sälta i eftersmaken.

(50 cl bottle from Bunker Beer) Pours black with rich, tan head. Aroma is initially of roasted malt which surprisingly is then followed by more hoppy, grassy and piney notes that blend in with an underlying biscuity-licoricy malty note. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation, oily texture and a lingering, bitter and dry finish. Reminds me somewhat of Mikkeller’s Beer Hop Breakfast but with a less electric hop bite. I like how the herbal, fresh hop character complements the complex, roasted character of the malt. Overall a well balanced beer, where the roasted malt never gets acidic and the alcohol is well masked.

(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a creamy, brown head. The aroma holds lots of fresh grapefruity hops and salt liquorice up front with undertones of cocoa, coffee, coal, asphalt brown sugar, honey tea, juicy dark bread, raisins, peppery vanilla, grass and a touch of yellow fruits. The deep malt profile and juicy hoppiness makes the nose near perfect. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of nice clean roasted and deep malt alongside resinous, grassy, spice, floral and citric hops. Undertones of brown sugar, dark caramel and liquorice. The mouthfeel is round, clean and smooth with a light tart-ish ending. Soft carbonation. Lingering salty, roasted and earthy/woodsy/grapefruity finish. Medium to full bodied.
