VitaminR (422), Colorado, USA Jun 2, 2008 Citrusy sour floral nose. Hazy gold/orange color, huge head, nice lacing. Honeysuckle sweetness, nice bitterness (subtle), some spicy sourness. Creamy carbonation, very satisfying long finish, alcohol is barely noticeable until the end. Very nice beer, easy drinking for the alcohol level, and the complexity is understated, yet enjoyable. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA May 31, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man. A big let down, considering my love for saison, though I’ll freely admit I’m not crazy about normal Dupont either. Thick, rocky head on the pour. Filtered gold. White pepper, milled grains. Spicy flavor, bone dry, popping mouth coating grain. This one is really hard to put down, a combination of rough CO2 and astringent malts. Snojerk321 (1923), San Diego, California, USA May 28, 2008 750ml bottle. Poured a murky golden yellow with a billowing white head that held great lacing. Citrus and Belgian yeast on the nose. Lemon peel and other citrus on the finish. Maverick34 (690), New York, USA May 26, 2008 As foret - draft @ the ginger man. poured a nice gold w/a lasting head. Lemony wit some spice etc. Pretty good. dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2008 Foret. Total opaque yellow-gold, fluffy large white head that lasts. Pepper and lemon mostly in the nose, a bit indistinct. Notes of grain, sweetness, floral. Relatively dry, spicy taste with citrus, clove, slight fruit esters. Finishes with bright citrus, honeyed sweetness, grape skins. Aftertaste is slight but pleasing, with a tinge of bitterness and grain. High carbonation hits first and then washes into a pleasing, creamy consistency as it is held on the tongue. Extremely quaffable. jcr (1139), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 15, 2008 750ml bottle labeled as Foret. Great balance among spiciness, sweetness and bitterness. Large, frothy white head that sticks around. Hazy dark yellow body. The aroma is spicy with notes of clove and pepper as well as sweet with pineapple. Hints of toasted grain and floral hops. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The sweetness drops off in the finish making room for a moderate bitterness. Medium body and very smooth texture. Lively carbonation. A real treat.
SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 15, 2008 750ml green bottle labeled Foret: Rich gold pour with a sturdy white top and lots of spiraling carbonation. The aroma is heavy with notes of doughy bread and sweet honey. Flowery hops along with notes of lemongrass, overripe bananas and vanilla add a nice complexity. The body borders on thick with lots of sweet malts building a great base for the citrusy hops to do their thing. Esthers aplenty in the body - more banana and vanilla bean are dominant. Finishes mildly bitter. This drinks really nice and is very complex even for the style. Solid example. thill25 (216), Orlando, Florida, USA May 7, 2008 11.2 oz bottle labeled as Foret...poured a hazy orange w/ a nice two finger white head.
