saxo (3516), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Mar 13, 2008 Updated: Jan 3, 2009Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sweet yeast and malt. Some spices, hops and citrus as well. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Mar 9, 2008 Hazy golden body, big beautiful white head; Beautiful deep complex super balanced very Belgium nose with all elements playing; Pleasant malty soft body with sharp carbonation; Hop bitter finish with lots of yeast present. Very good, very Belgium beer! Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Mar 8, 2008 Bottle, as ’Foret’, in San Francisco, 22nd Feb 2008. Hazy orange appearance. Fruit and wheat on the aroma and coriander and other spices add to the flavour. Reasonable palate, but not one of the best saisons I’ve had. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Mar 6, 2008 From the bottle at Milltown. Poured a bright golden with a good amount of sediment and a small white lace. Nose is bread, leather, citrus, and a little but butter. Flavor is unmistakable dupont, but still has some of that butter/diacetyl (?) lingering which deters my enjoyment. A nice beer nonetheless. I’ve had a few 750’s and had this on draught numerous times so I know this is an isolated experience. EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Mar 1, 2008 Hazy deep orange pour with a thick white head. Spicy clove aroma with lots of citrus. Crisp start with lots of orange spiciness. Bitter aftertaste. Nice crisp and refreshing. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 22, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle. Pours a light caramel amber color, with a perfect half-inch of creamy white head. Some decent lacing. Aroma is leather, sweat, warming cider, hair. Real yeasty. Some very slight tartness in the flavor, rich apples, dough, unique yeast, straw and dirt. Spicy mouthfeel, tangy finish. Drinkable. Pretty good. Boutip (2335), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Feb 18, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow/beige color ale with a huge pure white foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma of bready yeast with some nice floral Belgian malt notes but not as many hops as the vieille provision. Taste was a nice combination between some floral Belgian malt with some bready yeast which also provided a slightly spicy finish. Full body with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Another great beer from this fine brewery. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Feb 17, 2008 A straw golden yellow with a slight haze and an average density creamy white head. The nose is lightly sweet and largely reminiscent of of Saison Dupont. Dry peppery hops with a hint of straw and some fruit. A bit of nondescript spice, very subtle, very restrained. Balanced crisp nose with light acidity. The mouthfeel is not overly carbonated, watery, or fizzy, just well proportioned. The flavors are in line with the nose. Again, a lot like Saison Dupont. Dry light malt sweetness with a strong peppery hop presence for the style. Lightly spicy, but again subtle. Deeper floral notes open over time. Dry acidity, but again, well balanced. Crisp refreshing with the lightest aftertaste. A delightful beer indeed!
