4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
25cl bottle. Very cloudy orange with a small white head. Fruit, spice, and yeast dominate the aroma. Hints of apricot. Tangy and citrusy in flavor with a wheet taste and feel. Noticable yeast contributes to an earthiness and tangy bitterness on the finish. Very good although alcohol is quite present.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml, 2013 Foret. Lightly hazed gold with a white head. With a clean pour the nose is candy sugar, Belgian pale / honey malt, dried fruit peel and herbs / potpourri. Fruity and sweet, dried pineapple / citrus, mild herbal spice, frothy carbonation, viscous medium to full body. Alcohol noticed in my head but not in the beer, thanks for that. It’s not the sort of beer I drink a lot of these days, it’s sweeter and bigger than Saison DuPont, this one is more like a tripel. The hops are juicy and oily soft black pepper, dried flowers and bright lemon. Though strongly sweet, carbonation and acid and hop bitterness cut it well, so it shines brightly without growing overbearing.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Presentation: It was poured from a green 750ml corked and caged bottle into a tulip glass. The label has a freshness date however it was unreadable on my bottle. The abv is listed at 7.5%
Appearance: From the pour I got a tall slightly off white head over a cloudy deep golden amber body. It has lots of carbonation flowing up to the head which helps its retention. The head leaves sticky lacing behind which coats the glass as I drink.
Smell: The nose is full of classic Belgian funky/earthy yeast with some spicy notes, light citrus and estery sweetness.
Taste/Palate: It has a sweet grain malty bready base with some light toasted and nutty notes. Yeast spice and mild barnyard/basement funk notes mix in and out finishing on the tongue with some light floral hop flavor and bitterness. The palate has a solid medium feel with lots of soft but lively carbonation.
Notes: This is an Outstanding Saison with classic Belgian flavor and complexity all in a deceivingly drinkable package.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy golden with bubble white lacy head. Smells like a Kölch, dry hay. A bit bubbly on the tongue and a nice bitter aftertaste. Not as good as the OG Saison though!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dupont Foret Bottle (75cl): Golden, cloudy, frothy white head with lots of gas. Spice, estery, yeasty and fruity. Feral, funky, dirty edge. Dirty lees or reductive that in this case add to the complexity. Dry to off try palate. Low bitterness. Very fresh almost crisp probably due to high CO2. Medium weight. creamy texture with an edge. Lively carbonation. Long finish. Other than the funky edge i love the complexity and balance. Certainly old world beer with style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle - Pours hazy golden with a thick creamy white head. Nose is doughy yeast, light coriander spicing, a touch of grassy/herbal hops, and a dry pale malt base. Taste has much of the same, with a touch of honey sweetness mixing with the dry pale malt. A bit of warming alcohol, with more yeast character. Quenching, with a fully-carbonated fluffy body.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20

En pression into 25cl tulip.
Very enjoyable beer. Appearance is spot on hazy and golden, beautiful lacy head. Wonderful hoppy aroma. Drier texture, spot on. Very good texture, rich with a correct level of carbonation. Overall a terrific beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-08-30. Hazy dark yellow body with a small white head. Sweetish aroma of doughy pale malt with floral notes and lightly yeasty touches. 7+ Flavour is similar, yeasty sweet doughy malt, floral hop character, finishes relatively bitter and lightly alcoholic. 7+ Smooth average plus to medium body. 3+ Quite nice, enjoyable.
