Wim (1278), Turnhout, Belgium Nov 30, 2007 cloudy light amber coloured body with a small white head a nice fruity aroma a malty grainy taste and agrainy spicy finich nice taste vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Nov 25, 2007 Pours cloudy amber with a rich white head that has lots of sudsiness on the top layer. The aroma has orange zest, coriander, musty malt and light caramel. There is some muddled aspect to the aroma. Medium crisp grainy body with some light sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with the musty malt then a very sharp grainy flavor comes in with citric aspects, pepper, coriander and grains of paradise. The finish is all crisp spice. A very well made saison. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Nov 21, 2007 Pours a cloudy straw color with large creamy white head and sticky lacing. Banana, spice, citrus, lemon zest, grains, and a hint of funk. Love it. Mmmmm saison. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Nov 13, 2007 750 ml bottle labeled Foret at Logan’s Pre-GABF party. Great aromas of fruit and sweet bread. Flavors were more spice and some dustiness. Very good. blklab2007 (943), Connecticut, USA Nov 10, 2007 bottle labeled foret 11.2 oz. for this tasting have also had in a corked bomber. beer poured a lighter initial color until the bottom of the bottle was swished around and dumped in. immediate cloudiness, orange copper haze in color with a one finger head on the pour melting down the glass with some nutmeg looking floaters. aroma of Belgian yeast, brown sugar, dark fruit, nutmeg, and citrus peel. flavor is spice, medium mouth feel, somewhat sweet, and finishes on the dry side. hops give a nice bite in the finish and for an organic brew this one is one of the best i have tried. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Nov 2, 2007 Just what you expect from an excellent farmhouse ale. Very cloudy deep golden yellow in color. A very large head that take 3 minutes to settle. The aroma is moderate, musty, earthy, good. The flavor is clean, with no bite and a smooth finish. theviolet (168), New York, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 First impression is skunk, but that goes away quickly, leaving room for great saison aroma. Sweetness, yeast, wheat. Huge pillowy whit head. Golden color, lots of bubbles, a little cloudy. Much more mild than I expected, however the alcohol comes through i the finish. I don’t taste much fruit, maybe some apples. Nice full mouthfeel. Not overly carbonated. Good beer, a bit too mild in the flavor with a little too much alcohol bite. hapjydeuce (765), Del Mar, California, USA Oct 14, 2007 Bottled. A very refreshing and light, fruity saison ale, easily enjoyed. Hazy golden hue that produces a rocky white head that’s very thick and laces nicely. It’s got that refreshing authentic Belgian saison aroma of pear, banana, green apples, yeast and hops. Lively carbonation that extrudes the flavors very well, notes of orange, coriander, yeast and Belgian spice. I would gladly drink this one again.
