Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Mar 9, 2007 Pours honey-colored with a huge, off-white head. Aromas start with a barnyard funkiness followed by straw and banana; faint citrus hop bouquet. Despite it lack of presence in the nose the hops are fairly aggressive on the tongue: bitter but balanced with a honey-like sweetness and a twinge of alcohol. Finishes very clean. A good, but not overly complex beer. boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Mar 5, 2007 11.2oz. bottle: This pours a darker golden color. There is a small white head on it, which tends to linger awhile. A lighter but nice aroma of spices, fruits and bread. A very good taste. It has a medium body, and I get notes of citrus and spiciness. Just a touch sweet with actually a note of sourness in the aftertaste. Another beer from Dupont worth having. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Mar 1, 2007 Amber, hazy and a nice head. The aroma has notes of fruit and a bit of yeast. The flavour has a light sweetness that is nicely balanced by a dry, nice, citrussy finish. It’s nice and rather complex. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Feb 22, 2007 Pours a hazy golden amber with a persistant head. Spicy aroma with flavors of spice, yeast, and a strong dry hay character to it. Interesting, but not really great. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 21, 2007 750ml bottle - Pours straw colored with a huge head. There’s some light farmhouse funk, yeast, and citrus in the enjoyable aroma. The flavor is light and well balanced with some yeast, citrus, and mild hops that leads into a dry finish. mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA Feb 20, 2007 750mL. Poured a cloudy light amber with a solid, beaten egg-like head. Very sharp organic aromas of under-ripe lemon, cedar, whipping cream. Pretty dry mouthfeel with some sour milk notes. Alcohol hits pretty quickly. This is a really good saison but pretty dry in my opinion. jjbreadbowl (1), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA does not count Feb 20, 2007 My first Saison, so no real expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. A rich yellow with a nice head. Definitely a fruitier aroma, sweet and carbonated on first taste, almost like a subtle cider. Smooth on the way down. Had this with tapas, so it made a good palate cleanser. Agree with above rating, I could sip on this all day. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Feb 18, 2007 A nice rustic Saison that does become too sweet for me after a while. The carbonation is zippy and the yeast profile is barnyard all the way to the barn. If the beer was drier I would have enjoyed it more.
