nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 30, 2007 The aroma has lots of citrus, herbs (mint and basil), and spices (coriander and caraway) with a touch of wild yeast and malt. The appearance is hazy gold with a large foamy head that just won’t go away. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitterness up front that mellows and then returns for the finish. The palate is thin. Overall a nice beer. hayduke (1621), Eureka, California, USA Jan 26, 2007 Dupont Foret on my 750 ml bottle priced at $8.99 from my local North Coast Coop here in Eureka, CA. Poured a hazy golden color with a fat white head and big chucks of lacing. Nose of hops, spices, and citrus. Mouthfeel kind of average, and taste is same as nose, only slightly sweet. Decent, slightly dry finish. BleacherBum (176), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA Jan 20, 2007 Bottle where I tend the bar. White head with a dense gold body. Reeks of spice and very stale bread.,..interesting but not inviting. Some might find toasted biscuit in the flavor but i taste grains, lemon (it’s definitely sour) and the spice. Really a new and different style for me. A lingering sweet and dry finish leave me intrigued. Like a red head in my bed, I am slightly turned off at first but in the end I embrace it. ;) This beer would be fantastic with some NY cheddar or light fish. troopie (851), USA Jan 18, 2007 Draught. Frothy white head and a cloudy gold body. Aroma of spice, hops and grain. Flavour of freshly baked bread and lemon. Lingering finish. MrAndo (39), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jan 14, 2007 on Tap at Mchaffys, great beer, very cloudy with a small head on top. aroma of hops and spice. but the flavor was of fresh bread and earthness. veryu good slow drinking beer. I would definetly recomend it to an saison lover. SSSteve (2048), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 14, 2007 pleasant aroma of lemon, marshmallow, yeast, grain, coriander, and a little funk. big creamy white head. flavor of marshmallow, spices, and creamed corn. RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Jan 14, 2007 Pours a hazy pale straw color with a pillowy two finger head that slowly fades to a thick cap. There’s tons of lacing on the sides of my glass.
Smell; lots of farmhouse funkiness. Slight horse blanket and hay, and there’s some nice citrus and honey in the aroma as well as some hints of flowers and pepper.
Taste; starts off a bit grassy with a little sweet honey, and then the lemony citrus flavors come out some. As this beer gets warmer it becomes slightly sweeter. That barnyard funk comes out more in the finish, along with a good peppery spiciness that I really like. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice crisp carbonation. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 8, 2007 Bottle at home. Golden color. Luscious scent of sweet floral and sour. Patch of flavors, including spicy, grassy and peppery. Alcohol kicks in. Bitter finish.
