JoshuaB (422), Detroit, Michigan, USA May 21, 2006 2004 bottle. Awesome pour, definitely looks the part, 5/5. Pours a hugely hazy golden orange/yellow with lots of visible sediment even with a careful pour. Head is massive and thick. I let it sit for ten minutes, and the head didnt even recede 20%, left some awesome milkshake thick lacing. Aroma is spice, wheaty barnyard goodness, lemon, and spicy hops. Flavor a bit too sweet for the style and my liking, but I grew to like it more towards the end. Plenty of wheat and light malts in there to balance out a rather large coriander presence. Just wished it was a bit less sweet, and had more of the peppery hops that I love from this brewer. Good for a cooler summer night. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark May 18, 2006 Bottle. Hazy yellow colour with a big off-white head. Light sweet fruity, spicy aroma and a sweet fruity, spicy, perfumed taste. Medium body with a dry grassy finish. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2006 Cloudy golden colour with a white head. malty and spicy aroma with a fruity sweetness and a hoppy note. Malty, dry spicy flavor with a light fruityness. hobgoblin (163), St-Épiphane, Quebec, Canada May 14, 2006 Bottle. Nice golden orange color with nice white head. Kinds of orangy floral hops aroma. Taste is quite funky, very fizzy with an orange citrus floral taste with good bitterness.
Hazy golden coloured with a white head.
Aroma of malts, fruits and spices.
Flavour of fruits, spices and yeast with notes of hops. kms399 (267), plymouth, Minnesota, USA May 12, 2006 bottle pours a light hazy golden with a HUGE pillowy head that lasts the whole way through. tons of gobby lacing. aroma citrusy and sour taste is cirtusy with hints of malt and yeast. a nice sour/sweet malty character. damn fine brew. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA Apr 25, 2006 Foret bottle from 2004. Very overactive pour and had a ton of floaties, which increased exponentially toward the end of the bottle. At first, the aroma wasn’t very good, but it got better as the bottle progressed. Same could be said for the taste, but it never really got good. I don’t know, maybe the bottle was past it’s prime. I mean, it has the funky barnyard thing going on, but there really wasn’t any sweetness to balance it off. There was a citrus hoppiness to it, but it didn’t seem like it fit. Finishes tart and dry. Folkstar (6), Redondo Beach, California, USA does not count Apr 21, 2006 Ahh, Foret. A true classic in our own time. Very yeasty head, a very notable amount of spice but not too much, and an alcohol conent we can all agree with. The flavor never disagrees with your meal, and this beaity only gets better with cellaring. If you have never tried this fine Belgian Ale, I dare say that you’ve never lived, sir.
