Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 8, 2005 Bottle of Forêt, aged about one year
A light caramel color, with a thick, off-white head and traces of deposit.
Sticky sweet and juicy oranges, it wasn’t as yeasty as the fresh sample I’ve had before, it was fusty, but the spices weren’t as pronounced.
Carbonation still good, decent mouthfeel with a good malty backbone and a bit of orange and anis, I liked it fresh better. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Nov 7, 2005 Cloudy golden body with a very interesting head. At the end of the pour it looked like something phallic, but for this site I will just say it looked like lips. Gotta 5/5 that. Beautiful lacing on the glass as well. Aroma is mostly yeast and pepper, but also some oranges and straw. Flavor is basically the same, quite enjoyable. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Nov 5, 2005 Got this from a buddy who travels for work and tries to grab brews for me. Foret label. Poured gold and clear, white head. Fruity aroma, spaices as well. This was ok, not my cup of tea. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Nov 3, 2005 large, white and creamy head. Gold-yellow body. Lots of hops in the aroma, herby.
