damienv10 (108), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 19, 2004 Very cloudy light orange-gold color. Thin milky white head gives way and rings the glass. Lovely aroma of fresh lemon, orange, and sweet apricot. Although I can’t see any bubbles through the murky glass this saison is pretty lively when it hits the palette. Lemon and candied orange peel dominate the initial taste giving way to a pleasantly balancing hoppiness, this is also when the sweetness of the alcohol kicks in. Nice and warming. Great saison, and its organic! Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Dec 18, 2004 Updated: May 23, 2006Hmmm. Wonder if this has turned. Has been sitting at the store for quite a while. Strong skunk aroma when opened which I do not see mentioned elsewhere. Bright fluffy white head with great carbonation that keep a good head fopr the duration of the drink. Skunk has worn off and now has a plesant peach, yeast and wheat aroma. Color is a cloudy golden orange. Lively in the mouth from the carbonation. Some light fruit, yeast and a bit of spice. Finish is slightly warming. Pretty clean and dry with a slight lingering pepper taste. A good Saison brew. Was scared in the begining but turned out pretty good. BearBrewer (86), New York, east village, New York, USA Dec 3, 2004 Great beer... pours a hazy, golden body with a rocky, persistant white head. Aroma of hops, fruits, apricots, and a bottom note of maltyness. Flavor is a little fruity, some nice hop character, and a touch of alcohol. Finishes with a nice medium mouthfeel and a bit of malt. My first Saison, I intend to try more. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Dec 3, 2004 Hazy light amber body with a sizeable and lasting head. There’s a lot of dried stone fruit in the aroma along with a hint of citrus. The flavor has the same fruit profile with something a little softer (pear maybe?). Toward the end you get a bit of dry hay malt despite the fact the rest of the beer is mildly sweet. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2004 11.2 oz bottle - Whole Foods, Austin, Tx. Pours a bright golden to light orange with an extremely fluffy white merinque-like head and thick lacing. Aroma is yeasty, cake-mix like and sweet. Flavor has some brief buttery notes with a back end of lemon and some coriander. Mouthfeel is light and spritzy. Finishes strong. Would be good on a hot summer’s day. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA Nov 28, 2004 bottled 750 ml. Hazy golden with large white head. Full mouthfeel. peppery taste. Not bad but not as good as The other Dupont beers. Hab40oz (242), Grants Pass, Oregon, USA Nov 28, 2004 MM pretty yummy beer, pours a cloudy yellow orangish color, nice tall foamy white head. Has a kind of citrusy nose with some yeasty presence, kinda spicy. Nice smooth spicy flavor, not overpowering or sour, also great balance in this brew, nice full body. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Nov 28, 2004 Pours a cloudy/hazy golden with a big bubbled yellow-tinted white head that leaves sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma is very fruity, lots of citrus, corriander, spice, yeast, and some herbal floral hops. Taste has a great citrus tangerine almost sweet start, then a nice spice hits you and finishes with just a light hopped bitterness. Very light and crisp body with a very dry finish and slightly tart finish. A realy nice saison with a nice light carbonation that brings out a great variety of flavors.
