plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Apr 12, 2009 Bottle. Hazy yellow body with a steady white head. Spicy and malty aroma character with notes of fresh citric fruit. Very fruity flavour with the yeasty spices you always find in great saisons. Medium bubbly mouthfeel. Delicious brew. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA Apr 10, 2009 Tap. Yum, a great saison. Pours with the proper hazy yellow color. Great aromas of some funk, some straw and leather. Flavor is quite spicy, with some banana and more horse blanket. Very smooth and nice mouthfeel, excellent. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Apr 6, 2009 Cloudy orange with a lasting white head. Aroma of grain and herbs and some fruit. Dry and malty flavour with herbal notes. Fruity finish with a whiff of sulphur. Doesn’t quite reach the sophisticated elegance of better saisons. lassem (296), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 21, 2009 Little bottle. Floral nose with hops, peaches and some rusty metal. Moisty light yellow with a fluffy white lasting head. The taste is fresh and like a blooming field in spring, fresh plums, yeasty and citrusnotes.. Very drinkable - smooth and nice with a nice creamy palate- perfect for summer CharlesDarwin (1824), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Mar 19, 2009 750mL Bottle. Nice cork-inflected pungent yeast and noble hop aroma. Flowery, peppery, and fresh right out of the bottle. Pours a clouded middle-orange, with a nice lacey white. Flavor is rich and wonderful. Fresh peppery yeast phenols marry with bright, chewy pilsener malt and a tangy, dry citric edge of alcohol and yeast. Crisp and refreshing in every sense and loaded with nuance and delicate character. A classic, in many ways. Great, lingering echo finish, with some sweet citrus and peach. Delightful all around. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 12, 2009 I have been noticing this saison at a local store for awhile and just got around to actually buying one. Neat label with animals in a foret (forest). The color of the beer is a turbid orange, murkiness which is probably from suspended yeast as there is a chalky sediment settling to the bottom of my snifter. It smells spicy, peppery, oddly like flower pollen and brown sugar. There is a slight sourness towards the back and a slippery pepper taste and feel followed by subtle apple flavors like watered down apple juice. I was surprised that this actually paired decently with sharp cheddar but it was good.

Aroma is really awesome with candi sugar, doughy yeast, and a touch of citrus. Flavor is pretty sweet, earthy, candi sugar, lots of bready yeast, and some grassiness. TheJollyOne (204), Kofu, Japan Feb 28, 2009 Dark yellow body and very tall, slightly off-white, head. Nice nose of yeast, citrus, cinnamon and a bit of cookie. Taste of straw, sunflower seeds, weak orange juice, and earthen roots (?). Palate is quite thick, long bitter finish. If you like it earthy and funky this is for you.
