Good lord this was tasty. A truly amazing looking hazy, golden, orangish color. Aroma was also very nice. Spicy and citrusy at the same time. The flavor was truly one of a kind. So much going on: Citrus, spices, pepper and a touch of honey. Down right tasty. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 2, 2009 Bottled sample. Dark gold in colour with strong and spritzy carbonation. Aromatic notes of herbs, pale malts, mild citrus, and toasted marshmallow. More herbs, and pale malts on the palate as well, along with black pepper and yeast notes. Quite similar to the standard Dupont Saison, albeit with a bit more body and a slightly less-clean finish. A very solid saison overall. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Dec 26, 2008 Bottle at home bbf 04/09 another ive had a while ... amber thin white head ... light citrus spice nose ... sweet yeasty fruit hop ... little spice ... light dryness ... little peppery ... i seem to be missing the depth in this given other scores... BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA Dec 23, 2008 From a bottle with the Foret label. Poured cloudy yellow with a lot of floaters and a large white head. Butterscotch aroma. Taste was like fresh baked bread smothered in butter to start, then light fruit - pear, lemon and citrus - peppery with some corriander. Creamy mouthfeel. Not as dry as I would have expected from a saison. Drinks more like a trlpel. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Dec 13, 2008 Poured from 750 ml bottle, a hazy golden hue, bits floating around, formed huge rocky foamy head, face of the moon on top of foam. Aroma of hoppage, floral citrus breeze and yeast. A smooth saison beer, tasty and memorable. Organic? I geuss, Taste good? Hell yeah! Belgiums rule this style, bottom line. I love them! Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 28, 2008 Cloudy straw with white head. Aroma of fresh flowers. Intense malt flavor. Nice one. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Oct 28, 2008 Pours cloudy amber with a big white head. Aroma is spice, flowers and some sour fruit. Mouth feel is a bit thin, but lively with carbonation. Flavor is fruity with a good amount of citrus. Bread like yeast and grassy hop bitterness round out the flavor nicely. Very good. illkarate (89), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 23, 2008 Bottle - pours a turbid orange with a huge, fluffy white head. Although the head settles, a nice cumulus looking top remains. Flavors of hay, cinnamon, citrus, a touch of malt and grass. This is a bit on the sweet side, but still nicely done.
