texasbartender (151), Sugarland, Texas, USA Jun 12, 2008 The beer pours a hazy straw yellow color. It has a thick white head made up of tiny little bubbles, the head settle quickly but hangs around in a thin form for most of the time you consume it. The nose is a dusty mix of spice yeast and hops. The mouth feel is highly carbonated, this comes from the bottle conditioning. The taste is a sweet mix of spice, I get light coriander, cloves, peppercorn and nutmeg with a very forward flavor of acidic lemon. The finish is a dry sweetness that is somewhat lingering. By far a tasty beer that is good all year round but it truly satisfying after a hard day of yard work, or farm work, whatever you might be doing.
Cabeero (10), Thornton, Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2008 The best Saison I have tried in America. An absolutely killer appearance. The quintessential photographic beer. A medium, creamy, and mostly lingering head. Carbonation the dances on the sides of the glass, and a rich two-tone golden color that is hazy yet bright and sparkling. The head mellows into a wonderful, meadow of froth, with small hills and valleys. A few particles of yeast are present as well. Flowery and citrus hop notes intermingle with bananas and caramel. The aroma seems to swirl in around in my nose, with different notes taking the lead on every inhalation. The flavor is well balanced, slightly sweet, slightly sour, and slightly bitter. Maybe just a tiny bit metallic. The finish is sour. Bhops (182), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pour cloudy gold, large white head. Aroma of citrus and flavor of fruity dryness with some spice. Nice beer. scrizzz (473), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 10, 2008 oops didn’t mean to open this one, but here we go. medium hazy gold, persistent creamy white head, dusty speckled sediment. foggy aroma with some lemon citrus. dry tart wheat character continues with the lemon. bonus points for the increased alcohol and organic ingredients. davhix (29), Colorado, USA Aug 5, 2008 750 Foret. nice orangy color, good pillow head. really liked the initial fruity hint and pleasant finish. will buy this again. Rune (1508), Tromsø, Norway Aug 3, 2008 250ml bottle from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. White, creamy head on top of a hazy, orange body. Some laceworks on the glass. Fruity nose with hints of spices. Taste of sweet riped oranges with a dash of yeast beneath. A bit too sweet (Thanks to Finn Arvid for sharing, 02.08.2008).
