ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 13, 2008 07 on the cork. Pours a yellow golden honey color with a small white fizzy head that quickly turns into nothing more than a white oil slick on top of the beer. Nose is honey, wheat, spice, sugar, and some alcohol. Taste is sweet and spicy with a finish that is extremly alcoholic, something I have never experience in beer before let alone a 8.5%. Almost has a rubbing alcohol like finish. Well crafted but does not blow me away.Well balanced, I would let this one have some time to open up and breathe. koentje67 (8), Belgium does not count Apr 10, 2008 An absolute gem. Very hoppy taste and lasting finish, due to the dry-hopping. The alcohol is masked by the strong bitter taste. borisz (180), Netherlands Apr 6, 2008 33CL bottle, bought @ the beerkoning in Amsterdam.
Nice blond beer, golden color, small/medium head. Sweet taste, good belgian beer. gueuzeisgod (109), Graham, North Carolina, USA Apr 2, 2008 750ml bottle, cork says 2005. Heavy CO2 charge almost blew the cork out, nice loud pop. Pours pale gold, nice foamy head with tenacious lace as it collapses. Smells yeasty and a little bubble gummy, sweet rolls. Taste is malty and fruity, fully balanced by dry bittering hops. Hop profile is a bit monochromatic. The residual sweetness gets shoved out of the way by a tight, astringent hoppy finish. A really nice beer with cheeses, olives, and fresh veggies. thewolf (5636), Kolding, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Vinspecialisten, Kolding.
Pours a nice, almost clear golden yellow. A super-great, creamy white head on top. Good lacing and good duration. Aroma is sweet, lightly spiced (some coriander), biscuits, frugt (oranges) and yeast. Medium carbonation - quite creamy. Flavour is initially a bit vinious and kinda dry. A light peppery edge (Dupont makes too many Saisons :o) ), some coriander and vanilla. Otherwise lots of the usual exotic fruits, oranges, pineapple and peach mixed with well-balanced yeastiness. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Updated: Dec 30, 2008Hazy golden with a big and looong lasting white head. Fruity yeast aroma with bubblegum and pineapple. Dry and fruity with some bitterness, leading to a peppery finish and a hop aftertaste. Excellent. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Mar 27, 2008 Pours a hazy pale yellow with a chunky white head that lasts. Sweet aroma of yeast and ripe fruits. Flavor is similar, and very good. Some alcohol on the finish. Another good Belgian. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Mar 26, 2008 Someone was kind enough to share a 75 cl corked bottle and I had a glass. Looked golden with a small head when poured carefully and a really sweet and fruity aroma. The flavor is really fruity for a triple. Heavy on ripe fruits, punes, grapes, mango, apple and berries but most of all ripe and heavily sweet. I liked it, but wouldn’t have called this a triple.
