I’m surprised at the 96% overall, I thought it was a little average. One I may have to re-rate, I’d had a curry earlier. I’m a big tripel fan, this just didn’t really do it for me. Differenty strokes an all that. What you talking about Willis? holdenn (1440), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel". Pours clear golden with a smooth white head. Aroma is yeasty citrusy with dry funk all over. Citrus, caramel, yeast funk flavors. Sweet but dry finish. Very saison like. This was a great beer to break up those heavy alcoholic sweet trippels. This tied for second place for the night (for me at least) out of the 26 tripels. Tasty beer. drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2007 11.2 oz bottle purchased at Central Market in Dallas TX. Pours orange with a half finger bubbly head. Nose is quire fragrant and sweet with a bit of a citrus edge. Taste is sweet and pretty damn niceoveall. Although the taste has this weird bitter edge that I can’t quite place. All told not a bad triple. yalnikim (779), Wellington, New Zealand

Hazy gold with a big and airy virginal white head. Spicy, phenolic alcoholic golden ale with a balancing barley sugar sweetness. Fair bit of fizz. A little too much clove and feremented simple sugars on the palate, for me, but it nicely washed down the salmon, spuds and asparagus. joergen (8523), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Best-a-man-can-get alpine suds standing aloft. Rubbery pineapple/spruce nose with sour wheat, green apple, lemon jelly, sesame, wood, dried apricot and sneaking vanilla. Misty with detritus. Not just lace but huge tufts of cumulus sticking to the sides of the glass. Bitterly woody hop flavour with some alcohol sting. Smooth but lingeringly bitter. Another robustly hopped pale Belgian ale heavy with tropical fruit yeastiness. Really well done, but not quite sure what all the fuss is about... jefcon (998), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2007 Aroma is a bit stale. Lots of citrus, very rustic on the nose. Flavor is fresher, with sour cherry, apple, apricot, yeast and some light spicing. Lots of character, pleanty of spice on the palate.
