WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Dec 26, 2007 11.2 oz bottle purchased at Central Market in Dallas TX. Pours orange with a half finger bubbly head. Nose is quire fragrant and sweet with a bit of a citrus edge. Taste is sweet and pretty damn niceoveall. Although the taste has this weird bitter edge that I can’t quite place. All told not a bad triple. yalnikim (776), Wellington, New Zealand Dec 25, 2007 Tasted 25/12/2007. 750ml bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. Hazy gold with a big and airy virginal white head. Spicy, phenolic alcoholic golden ale with a balancing barley sugar sweetness. Fair bit of fizz. A little too much clove and feremented simple sugars on the palate, for me, but it nicely washed down the salmon, spuds and asparagus. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 16, 2007 Bottle.
Cloudy golden coloured with a huge and lasting white head.
Fruity aroma of spices and yeast.
Flavour of fruits, spices, yeast, grass and hops.
Dry yesty finish of grass. DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Dec 10, 2007 Best-a-man-can-get alpine suds standing aloft. Rubbery pineapple/spruce nose with sour wheat, green apple, lemon jelly, sesame, wood, dried apricot and sneaking vanilla. Misty with detritus. Not just lace but huge tufts of cumulus sticking to the sides of the glass. Bitterly woody hop flavour with some alcohol sting. Smooth but lingeringly bitter. Another robustly hopped pale Belgian ale heavy with tropical fruit yeastiness. Really well done, but not quite sure what all the fuss is about... jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Dec 8, 2007 Aroma is a bit stale. Lots of citrus, very rustic on the nose. Flavor is fresher, with sour cherry, apple, apricot, yeast and some light spicing. Lots of character, pleanty of spice on the palate. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Dec 4, 2007 Hazy golden colour, big white head. Aroma of hops, coriander, citrus and other fruits. Flavour is hoppy and fresh, good carbonation. Fruits and spices are present. Dry and sour ending. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Nov 26, 2007 750ml - Nice internally glowing gold color, lacing was great. Similar notes to the vielle provision, with the dry hopping taking more of a lead yet keeeping the seltzerlike mouthfeel.. Miksu (2191), Jyväskylä, Finland Nov 25, 2007 0.33 l bottle. Deep golden color with thick fluffy head. Dry, tart, fruity, honeyish, spicy and warming aroma with notes of vanilla, cristmas cookies, pineapple and lemon. Dry, tart, fruity and spicy flavor with clove, cardamon and cinnamon. Bitter, fruity and herbal finish. Excellent!
