Nice spice in the nose. Sharp alcohol on the lips, lights a fire all the way to the adenoids. Yeasty bread, whole grains and butter. Creamy but dry. Tilted to the warm side, but sustains on the tongue. Masterful. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 30, 2007 750 corked and caged from Pop’s in Northampton, MA... The bottle says Moinette, Unfiltered, Bottle Conditioned, and Belgian Ale. This beer looked and smelled like the De Ranke Guldenburg. The first sip unleashed a familiar sour funk on top of a strong gold belgian ale. The flavs were ripe apple and pears with a lambicesque sour finish. The hops are subtle in this sweet strong beer. This is the best beer that I have had in a while. (I have been drinking miller high life all summer:) malrubius (977), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Pours hazy pale yellow orange with dense, rocky off-white head and full lace. Mild aroma of grapefruity hops, vanilla, bread dough. Complex flavors of grapefruityness, honey, vanilla tobacco, mild spiciness, with a clean hop bitter finish. Surprisingly light body. Not sure why this is a tripel instead of strong blonde. I wish I could adequately describe how fucking good this is. Might be a new favorite. MrRain (427), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2007 750ml bottle poured in a Trappist glass. this hazy unfiltered beer looks like grapefruit juice with a thick head that settles quickly. I smell green apples and tart cherries along with a faint hint of balsa wood. The first taste isn’t really attention grabbing. It has mostly a citrus-like lemon flavor with noticeable carbonation. Upon further sampling I detect an almost German wheat flavor of banana and clove that is well-hidden in the alcohol taste. This isn’t a bad beer but I’ve had much better Abbey Tripels before. This one is easy to drink but doesn’t have the character I associate with the style. It a little bit of a boring beer. Beershine (2686), Hue, Vietnam

In fact, Moinette Blonde has session-drinking potential and goes down well. Have tried both in bottle and tap. ohemming (22), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Strong alcohol flavor, not enough going on with this beer to balance the high alcohol content. csbosox (1079), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 15, 2007 11.2oz bottle. Label is framed in green and reads just "Moinette." 8.5% ABV. Served in a duvel tulip. Nice floral aroma with some light fruits (pears), honey, lavender, and a touch of white pepper. Very subtle aroma, but very nice too. Light golden color with a large three fingered head at first, but it dissipated leaving a thick ring of foam on the glass. Gentle, but persistent carbonation. Flavor at first is rock candy, pears, some subtle spiciness, vanilla, and mild orange followed by earthiness, vanilla/cream, spiciness (nutmeg?), and a touch of alcohol in the finish. Nice body. I love DuPont beers.
