mybrainhurts (212), North Dakota, USA Mar 13, 2007 Big aroma of citrus, yeast, hard fruits, and spices. The flavor is herbal and citrusy. Some alcohol spiciness as well with a dry finish. This is a fine abbey and worth seeking out.
piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Mar 8, 2007 Dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Fantastic aromas of grassy hops, green banana, marshmallow, mild sour citrus, and ripe pear. Loads of ripe pear in the mouth, along with notes of black pepper, alcohol, and some light caramel. Dries out rapidly on the finish, with the alcohol note hanging around a bit too long. If you’re familiar with other Dupont products, this tripel will taste exactly like you’d expect it to. BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Mar 5, 2007 33cL bottle. Poured clear golden with a sold white head. I was disappointed in the taste of this beer; I thought it was soapy and slightly medicinal in flavor. I will try to get another bottle and re-rate as required. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Mar 3, 2007 Bottle. Pours a thick yellow orange color with a frothy white head. Fruity and malty aroma. Flavor has strong malt and yeast presence, somewhat spicy, evenly balaced between sweet and bitter. Palate with thick and creamy with good carbonation. Very good. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Mar 1, 2007 Golden, hazy and a nice head. The aroma has notes of fruit, aroma hops and a bit of yeast. The flavour is lightly sweet with notes of fruit, caramel and a nice, dry, citrussy finish. A nice one. Capa (952), Yokosuka, Japan Feb 12, 2007 Poured a cloudy golden straw color with a nice white head. Aroma was a nice mixture of grassy citrus notes and spices with yeast and a touch of alcohol. The alcohol becoming more noticeable as it warmed. Malts and yeast were up front, so was the spices followed in the flavor by the alcohol and slight citrus notes. The finish was soapy and nicely bitter, with the alcohol coming through more on the end. Body had a nice feel with maybe a little too much carbonation. A great way to end a day. sfhc21 (74), Midlothian, Texas, USA Feb 11, 2007 Nice white head with yellowish body. Sweet aroma with candy flavor and a bit of fruity citrius. Overall a very nice beer.
