Bottle sampled with Beerded one. Pours golden with a huge head that fade into a thin brim with excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus, fruit, belgian style spice, and yeast. The flavor is sweet, carbonated, spices are present, citrus, and fruit. This beer finishes clean. Good body, good brew.

Hazy golden coloured brew. Carbonated and grainy falvor and smell. Citrus and some other fruits. Sourness is not unpleasant, even a bit sweet. Nice.

Appears a dense haze of pale gold with streams of CO2 quickly rising to the top. A fluffy 2 finger off-white head that slowly fades out into a mild cap. Solid streaks of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is Earthy, herbal, with hints of citrus, vanilla, and sugary candy, along with doughy yeast. Taste is of the same aromas with some yeasty goodness coming through nicely. There’s also a nuttiness that comes together nicely. Mouthfeel is full bodied, sticky sweet from the yeast, and dry. This is enjoyable if you’re thirsting for an authentic Belgian brew done with the Dupont yeast. Very yummy stuff.

Quite an enjoyable brew. The presence of apples is apparent in both the aroma and the taste. Since it is a bottle conditioned beer, the golden color is hazy with both bubbles and sediment. This beer goes down smoothly and sets well with me. I recommend this beer to belgian ale lovers.

2004. Hazy gold. Large, off white, swiss cheese head. Nose is grainy, lightly sweet, barn funk, earthy hops, peppery yeast, a touch of sourness. Same flavors plus some subtle caramel. Finishes dry, yeasty, funky. Aftertaste leaves a light sweetness. Medium, balanced body. Great brew.

From a 750mL corked bottle, which I’m guessing had to be sitting around for a while at the shop because of a little dust. Pours a golden straw blonde color with a big frothy white head and some floaties, a bit cloudy, leaving some nice lace; it’s real purdy lookin’ an’ ev’rything. Aroma is herbal and cidery, a little moldy with wet hay, yeast and alcohol.; complex and sticking in the nose; a touch of citrus. Sourish, dry; lots of vinegary and cidery flavors; bready, yeasty, sourdough; herbal and citrusy, stale hops, Italian/Provencal food herbs. Flavors last forever, and dry out the tongue...Maybe it’s just my bottle, but this beer is absolutely phenomenal; very deep, complex from all aspects. This is one of the best beers I’ve had in a long while.

Dark golden color, full head, never had a blond like this, bit grainy, bread, resin and basement aromas, lively carbonation.

Unusual number this one turned out to be. An aged Tripel that showcased Duponts meticulous grip on balance and execution. It pours a cloudy, orange-gold with a bad case of the floaties. Head forms off the pour to condense to a thick, creamy pad of white that held firm and left behind some intricate patterns of lace. Aroma is a little leftfield with notes of high quality malt vinegar, some grapefruit, bitter under-ripe fruits and vines shining through. It’s subtle for style but quite fresh along the lines of Bosteels Karmeliet. It’s creamy in the mouth but not altogether big in body especially whilst cold. Doughy, bready yeast, vanilla yoghurt and a touch of pale candi give it a pleasant sweet start before some very assertive bitter fruits take hold of the palate. It’s got vine-clippings, watermelon rind and a plentiful supply of unripened orange pith which make for an interesting profile of bitterness in and around the swallow. Alcohol begins to show around warm and the finish slowly becomes caramelly and nutty. Though predominantly fresh and bitter, the mouth is filled with nuts and pasty caramel between swallows. It’s good warm, it’s good cold. An interesting beer, refreshing yet slow in quaffing. I like it!!! (33cL, No date stamp, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)
