Pours a hazy golden (chill haze?) with lively carbonation and a huge frothy sticky, glistening white head. All what a great saison should be. Aroma is very powerfull, as I can smell if from a couple feet away. At first I thought it had gone stale- I think I poured it too cold. Lots of grassy notes, wierd skunky hops, but as it warmed it moved more into what a true saison should be. Overall I think this one is very similar to the Veille Provision, just a bit stronger and more flavor- more intese aroma. More grassy and herbal hops and spicy yeasty aromas come as it warms. Almost a wierd harsh sea-salt type aroma characteristic to some saisons. Hints of hay and barnyard are also mixed in there. When cold the flavors are very muted and pretty much are undetectable. As it warms though, a lot of flavors really stand out. Some wierd spices, citrus and orange, with a little bit of lemon. Earthy pepper-like tones and a light tart finish. Also ends up pretty dry which is nice. Would be a nice summer beer, but since it has 8.5% it is great for the winter too. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Spice and Fruit Notes On the Nose...Dry Rich Citrus Taste and Feel to it...Some Spice on the Tongue, Banana. An Enjoyable Tripel, but Taste Seemed a bit Cluttered, Instead of a Smooth Balance of Flavors.. Worth Trying and Storing Some Bottles. iowaherkeye (1850), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2005 The description on my bottle matches that of the brune, but mine looks more like a tripel, so I’m going with this one.
330mL bottle. Pours a light amber, cloudy with a few dark floaties and a big white frothy head. Aroma of bananas, bubblegum some spiciness and yeast. Can taste a little alcohol with more of the same. Very mild bitterness. I did like this one, thanks to the guy @ John’s Grocery (dunno his name) for this one. pivo (2535), Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Light dough and vanilla nose, murky gold color, foamy frothy head. Quickish malt body with a soft pear taste. Hint of vanilla. Fairly strong hop bitter that lingers. Complex, big beer. Quite enjoyable. Dorwart (1812), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Well, my bottle does not look like this one but it is the closest that I can find. Thin dense, constantly regenerating foam for a head. Quite nice. Sweet fruity and slightly sour aroma. Lemons, yeast, hay and spices. Color is a cloudy golden orange. WOOHOO, nice alcohol kick as it goes down. More spices and yeast in the flavor with the lemon diminishing. This is a 2005 bottle and actually seems a bit hot. Lingering alcohol burn. Crisp flavor with a bit of bitterness. I think that this brew could also use a bit of mellowing out over a year or two. The flavors are not blending very well and seem pitted against one another. Still a good triple and one that will most likely improve with age. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 23, 2005 Pours a cloudy blonde color with yeast in suspension and a thick, creamy, lasting white head. Very appealing aroma of spices, fruits, yeast and hops. Excellent flavor of hops, spices, citrus and yeast with a bitter finish. The body is full with a gentle creamy texture and low carbonation. This is an excellent beer, another great achievement from Dupont. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2005 This beer poured a dark golden and slightly cloudy with a big, fat head and nice lacing. The mouth feel is nicely viscous and slightly slippery in the finish. Aromas include hops, straw, toasty grain, grapefruit, herbs and chamomile and a faint hint of cellar. The flavor starts of sweetly and fades into a long, moderately bitter finsh. A very rustic and interesting beer. bask (305), Leuven, Belgium

Strong yeasty aroma, bread dough, a little citrus. Light bitter and citric flavour with sweetish notes, strong yeasty finish. Not bad, not outstanding, nice to drink but just ordinary.
