joeec5 (204), bayonne, New Jersey, USA Jun 19, 2005 pours with a nice white fluffy head. aroma is belgian yeasty with some spice. Spicy yeasty flavor blends with an alcoholic finish. Nice, mild , drinkable. SWEEET. hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jun 19, 2005 Yes, great head and typical Belgian aroma. And I agree that there are lots of incredibly subtle things going on in there. Personally I don’t really like the overwhelming alcohol flavour. Sorry. BierBauch (639), Cape Coral Waterfront Wonderland, Florida, USA Jun 16, 2005 750ml Corked 2004 Very nice Tripel. Slightly less than clear with an enormous head that’s billowy like a cumulous cloud and lasts all day. Aroma of yeast and spices, light sourness, lemon, faint barnyark funkiness, coriander and pepper. Medium bodied, smooth a bit dry in finish. Spicy fruity flavor, light hop notes and bitterness, some fruit light tartness. Overall a really nicely rounded Tripel. schuimkroaat (391), Leuven, Belgium Jun 13, 2005 33 cl bottle, bbe Aug 2007. Apricot coloured, the rest of its appearance somehow also reminds of apricot skin. Small but stable snow white head which adheres well to the glass, leaving fine lace. Estery, fruity nose: banana, a hint of orange zest, definitely some caramel. Complex and rich, yet very mellow and round taste: malty sweetish - fruity sourish, flowing into orange zest into very present and pleasant, but not assertive, aromatic hops in the end and in the relatively long aftertaste. You never prove the 8.5% vol. alc. johninmelb (688), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Jun 11, 2005 A surprisingly good blonde - fresh, yeasty and well realised, with a definite alcohol presence that is not astringent at all. Typical fizzy palate is not irritating as so many are. Finishing charcters of fresh hops and the vaguest hint of citrus. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 8, 2005 I bought this on the word that it was better than Karmaliet, but its not. Looks like a typical belgian. Hoppy, delicate start with a slight bite. What I noticed most about this guy is how fast the taste dissipates. Disappointing for its high price. It also gets almost rank as it gets warmer. A below par tripel in my opinion. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2005 Decent beer with some truly unusual tastes in both the fore abd after. I shared this with a friend that mostly drinks macros and he liked it a great deal more than I did. There is something sharp and dry in the taste that you don’t get out of most Belgians. Very different. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 24, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Originally just known as "Moinette II". Orangey golden beer with a huge head. Lots of yesty sediment. Strong and potent in both body and alcohol with a dry hoppiness. We’re talking Orval-territory although far from the same complexity. 270695
