CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 31, 2005 Bottled in 2004: Pours a lightly hazy golden bronze with a large clumpy-lacing pure white head. Aroma has a very nice farmhouse character with some sweet Belgian malt and candi sugar with lots of bready yeastiness. Starts semi-sweet and yeasty showing mild peppery spice toward a dry earthy finish. Could maybe use a touch more sweetness in the body, but still well-balanced and very drinkable with good barnyard yeasty presence. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 31, 2005 I am not a great fan of this style. It poured with a massive head and a very bitter taste.Very powerful mouthfeel and the bitterness lingered for some time. Overall not very impressive. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Mar 25, 2005 Blond gold color, slightly hazy. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is pears, coriander and a touch of leather. A medium bodied blonde ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Pears, peaches and spices. Somewhat citrusy. Touches of coriander leather and must. Nice beer. A touch sweet and a little citrusy. Very smooth. Nice dry and tart finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is sweet. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 10, 2005 Cloudy gold with a nice foamy head. Sour lemons and funk in the nose. Some barnyard and yeast. Citrus and doughy flavors. Reminds me almost of sour lemon drops. Yeasty and slightly cobwebby. Dry with a citrus finish.
Sickboy282 (1098), San Diego, California, USA Mar 8, 2005 Bottle--- Golden color in hue with a nice head with wonderful lacing. Aromas of spices, a light funk, and oak. Flavors of the same with a nice grassy flavor with a clean dry finish. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England Mar 7, 2005 Updated: Mar 20, 2005From A Bottle.Pale gold in colour with a nice head.aroma is of apples spices and all things nice,
taste is of warming alcohol, wood, sour fruit and more spices, quite dry. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Mar 7, 2005 From the bottle this brew pours an amazing orange with a tall white head that stays forever. Very crisp and dry brew with lots of spiciness pepper, esters, lots of cork aroma and flavor and a slight sourness in the finish. Very crisp dry finish with just a light hopping to balance. Amazingly drinkable for the ABV. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Mar 4, 2005 BCA. Fruity (bananas?), spicy, vanilla nose. Noticeable alcohol and a bitter astringent body which while not unpleasant reduced my enjoyment somewhat.
