3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2015 Been drinking a lot of tripels and ’Belgian Strong Ales’ lately and I’d have to sit down over several evenings with a lot of bottles to really have a chance to differentiate between a lot of them. Moinette has the usual yeasty aroma, a good body, some sweetness and spiciness, decent complexity and smoothness and hides its ABV well. Additionally, it finishes well, dry and with little aftertaste. Quite a lot of sediment as I poured glass #2 into a standard Belgian ale glass... not a problem for me. This is certainly a fine entry into this category, and perhaps in the end my determining factor will simply come down to price and availability locally. Love these ales!

33cl bottle from some shop in either Estonia or Belgium. Pours clear golden with some small, floating particles and a white head. Fruity aroma with notes of Belgian yeast, spices and mild malty and hoppy. Medium to moderate sweet with nice fruity and floral flavours and a fairly dry and somewhat bitter finish. Quite delicious!

F: huge white foam.
C: opaque hazy yellow golden.
A: very nice fruity aroma, citrusy, orange peels, coriander, some flowers, bread, honey
T: interesting like very strong saison beer, but here as Belgian strong ale, great beer with fruity luscious yeast and spicy, rich citron and orange taste, with nice palate hops bitterness, medium to full body with lively carbonation, anyway very refreshing, worth to try!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange golden color with a nice billowy white fizzy foam head. The head fades moderately quickly over time leaving a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is strong of a cracker aroma mixed with a lot of yeast and a little bit of a bready smell. Along with these aromas comes some smells of clove and coriander as well as a good showing of a grainy and fruity smell. All in all it gives a rather nice and clean Belgium smell overall.
Taste – Upfront the taste has a decent showing of a fruity nature of peach and pear mixed with a whole lot of a bready taste. A decent showing a clean grainy flavor and a lot of yeast are present upfront as well, which make for a rather flavorful taste. While lighter upfront, the spice flavors of coriander and clove get rather potent toward the end and are joined by lots of grass and a herbal hop. With a light decrease in the sweet, and a little more grainy and some hay coming to the tongue at the end, one is left with a nice flavorful and crisp Belgium strong flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner and crisper side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For the somewhat fruity and sweet, yet crisp and bready tastes, the feel is quite nice and when considering the style, this one makes for a rather nice drinker overall.
Overall – This was rather enjoyable Belgium triple style ale. Lots of nice flavor all while maintaining a rather crisp and refreshing character at 8.5 % abv.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bonito color miel, turbia. Dos dedos de espuma muy efervescente. Aroma a yogurt y galleta. Cuerpo ligero y carbonatación muy notable. Sabor complejo: floral y miel, frutal y pera, dulce galleta... Final seco, amargo y alcohol bien disimulado salvo por el regusto caliente final. Notable.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden color with a modest off-white soapy head. Aromas of orange, lemon, yeast, grain, bread and honey are present. Medium body with active carbonation. A strong saison in my book. The yeast and spices really stand out as it warms up. Nicely bitter but not overly so with a nice touch of nutmeg and cinnamon along with a peppery finish. A very complex strong ale, that is a must drink for saison fans. World class beer for sure.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a clear, sun-yellow color, with a huge, stable head.
Drinks very smooth, due to a well pronounced yeast foundation, with a perfect fitting carbonation, revealing a medium body.
The nose exhibits qualities of an european lager, with sweeter, biscuity malts and slightly herbal hops, but amped up with a spicy yeast foundation. Grass provides a lot of character, giving the aromas an interesting turn.
Tastes of dough, soft and spiced yeast, among biscuity malts. Has a lemon peel crispness giving the beer a pleasant freshness. Finishes with a decent dryness, wrapped up by clove, pepper, flowery hops and a luscious yeast foundation.
A classic example of a refreshing, complex traditional Belgian beer. The yeast spiciness is well integrated, without becoming the dominant ingedient of the beer. Grass, lemon peel and biscuity malts among a slightly metallic carbonation adds an enjoyable depth.
