4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Allen (2401) - - NOV 3, 2009
Bottled 33cl. It pours a hazy golden beer with a nice white head. Strong, fantastic inviting hoppy aroma with hints of pepper, melon, leather, vanilla, blackberry, coriander and a lot of yeast. There is a nice bite to this beer. Good lacework. Relatively strong bitterness. Subtle carbonation. Complex, vinous and fruity. Great hop profile. Peppery on the swallow. Long dry finish which is reminiscent of clove and coriander. A sublime beer.

Currently drinking while typing. This brew has a nice aroma once poured, good malts, yeast, sweet cheese, lemon and sour cream. It’s an absolutely incredible beer to look at as memories of it sparkling in the summer sun are what I think of when I have one of these! Beautiful soft foamy head which grows intensely upon the golden yellow coppered coloured brew. The taste of the Moinette gets me everytime, it is a perfect example of that classic Dupont taste which defines their brews to anything else! Full of cereal like malts, Belgian yeasts, light toasted Danish breads, grains and an aftertaste of gentle floral hoppiness. Great umami feel overall with an extremely gentle bitter back-note. Full in the mouth with a lively carbonation that works well without breaking out, lovely top lip foam tickles and subtle dry finish. A very memorable beer for me, maybe why I love it so much but honestly the flavour is incredible! A must have beer!

This brew just blew me away with it’s big taste. Lemon and citrus dominate. Nice spicy notes mixed in grassiness. Mixed in with a little funk. I just loved, loved this beer.

Orange bodied and a small head that turns into a nice lacing. Lots of fruit, like oranges, red apple, some lemon and peach. Corn flakes, hay and quite some funk. Lots going on. Highly carbonated texture, but also full enough. Starts somewhat fruity but has a clear bitterness lasting throughout the palate. Quite high on alcohol : dangerous. Leaves a refined, pleasantly dry aftertaste. Unpretentious and well brewed Belgian. Good stuff. (33cl bottle, cheap)

Draft. Pours a yellow haze color with a thin white diminishing head. Aroma of sweet citrus and banana fruit notes. Taste is fruity, crisp and refreshing. High carbonation with a somewhat champagne like finish. A very nice Tripel.
