Bought this after seeing goodgrief rate a moinette by dupont and like it, although his now apepars to have been biologique. Sorry about your Frenchie sounding "biologique," there pal, looks like I got the manly beer. In any event, the bottle from SL was just fantastic, exactly what I needed ALL TO MYSELF tonite. Pour had a big huge head, nice white color, pillowy, good lacing, nice sediment on the very last pour. The aroma was grassy, grainy, slight funk and faint pepper. The flavor followed, some lighter fruits in there, dry, tasty, grassy, yeast yum. A well done brew, some alcohol pop to kick things up, but still well-concocted. Dang, this thing was bigger than I thought, over 3 beers in a bottle basically. Mouthfeel was dry, fairly light for 8.5%, highly drinkable. Thanks to me for the bottle, and SL for carrying such a fantastic selection. SL rocks!

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Royal Liquors in Kansas City, Missouri. 2.008 stamped on the cork. Pour is cloudy yellow light golden with a nice white head. Nice lacing as it falls. Aroma is initially pretty skunky, when that clears, a really nice delicate mineral earthiness, with a spicy floral yeastiness. The wheat malt body firmly anchors the base of the nose. Taste is initially big clove, floral spice, then a great earthy yeastiness brightens up the middle. Finish is honey sweetness, earthy and more of the mineral. Palate is medium, very dry and flinty, thirst quenching. Alcohol peaks through just a touch in the finish, though doesn’t detract much. Nice. (9,4,8,4,16 - 4.1)

750 bottle, 2006 Vintage, provided by after4ever. Pour is cloudy cheddar cheese orange with a 1 inch white head. Aroma of soft floral, a bit hoppy, sweet wheat and malt. Taste is really soft, very much a full wheat, yeast and floral experience. Some black pepper spice in the finish. Really nice full palate that wasn’t too big for the delicate floral and spice. This one was nice. Thanks for sharing Tom. (8,5,8,4,16 - 4.1)

750mL bottle split two ways - pours a hazy golden colour with an off-white head. Great body, with yeast, mild spice and great hoppy flavour. An excellent tripel.

Bottle.
A - Crisp light golden color with a light orange hue. Good amount of bubbles and sediment. Large creamy and sticky white head with good retention and a great lacing left over.
S - A lot of candied tropical fruit and orange along with some pale malt. A good amount of Belgian yeast and spices.
T - Most prominent is a candied citrus (orange and lemon) taste that is slightly sweet and slightly tart/sour. Also a good amount of coriander and other Belgian spices as well as Belgian yeast. Hints of apple/pear and honey also come through along with some pale malt. Balance of sweet and tart with just a hint of alcohol and medicinal taste.
M - On the lighter side of medium body with good carbonation. Slightly drying.
D - Pretty easy to drink. Good balanced flavors of sweetness and tart/sourness.
Notes: Nice beer that is easy to drink and tasty. Not really like the other BSPA that I have had, it has some aspects of a BSPA but also some of a Tripel and a Saison. Well balanced with a good amount of fruity flavors. Not amazing or stand out but a solid beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2012
Orange bodied and a small head that turns into a nice lacing. Lots of fruit, like oranges, red apple, some lemon and peach. Corn flakes, hay and quite some funk. Lots going on. Highly carbonated texture, but also full enough. Starts somewhat fruity but has a clear bitterness lasting throughout the palate. Quite high on alcohol : dangerous. Leaves a refined, pleasantly dry aftertaste. Unpretentious and well brewed Belgian. Good stuff. (33cl bottle, cheap)
